From PC World: According to Big Blue, Sequoia will have the power of 2 million laptops. Its closest rival, the world’s first petaflop machine, Roadrunner, can only perform at speeds equivalent to 100,000 laptops combined.
I, for one, can’t wait to see how the erotic online industry makes use of such a powerful computer.

“only… 100,000 laptops”
I like how the fastest computer in the world (maybe second fastest depending on the status of Jaguar at ORNL) is dismissed off-hand.
Jaguar at ORNL (Oak Ridge National Labs) is a Cray system by the way. Despite the fact that Cray is now headquartered in Seattle their systems are still built in Chippewa Falls, WI and much of the software development is done in Mendota Heights.
