Sure, having to shop this late in the game sucks big time (especially if you’re as terrified of malls as I am), but Sam Can Shoot offers us the silver lining of a Mall of America trip during the holidays — abstract wreathes, ginormous Christmas balls, orchestra music, and even a taping of “Mall Cops: Mall of America.” Huh? What was that? Yeah, you heard me right. “The tomato that pelted a police officer during Sarah Palin’s recent visit to the Mall of America was captured on film and every juicy detail will play out on a new cable series headed to TLC.”
The new series will give us a look beyond the mysterious security of the nation’s largest mall. “The Mall of America is in a league of its own, with a direct line to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a K-9 unit with bomb-sniffing dogs. MOA draws 40 million visitors a year — 180,000 just on Black Friday — and employs more than 100 security officers, many of them retired military personnel or aspiring police officers.”
Interesting. Or not.

Maybe I shouldn’t admit this. Mall Cops: MOA isn’t new. The premiere episode was a few weeks ago on TLC. As one might expect, it doesn’t have all the glitz, adrenaline-pumping, strobe-flashing action of COPS. There weren’t any wild chases around the concourses but they did bust a food court vendor for not having his MOA ID. Kicked his butt out of there. Semper fi!

Yeah, they aired an episode back in October, I think.. but I hadn’t actually heard about it until now. Poor TV skillz.
