The photo of the royals looks to have been taken at the St. Paul Hotel, where that wallpaper still hangs, I believe.

In looking around other photos on that site, it appears that the only option for purchasing prints is to buy a framed, matted version for $80 and up — lame.

@sandburg: I’m sure the photo wasn’t identified that way when it was originally published in LIFE.

Re: Southdale. Much of my grade school youth was spent there, lusting after the pre-video games and pinball machines that were in the basement next to the shoeshine guy.
