It was nice of Memphis to realize they weren’t scrimmaging before the end of the game.
2:18 pm
Amen. I’m 3-for-3, but damn memphis, i’ve got you going to the final, i think
2:20 pm
UNI fight! UNI fight!!!
2:22 pm
10 minutes. It is just like trivia last night! Panthers vs Boilermakers! Let’s hope the Panthers don’t get robbed like the MNVengers did last night!
2:25 pm
I’m sorry DouglasG but I cannot support UNI being victorious.
2:26 pm
I have 2, one I picked NC like the rest of the world, the other one PITT.
damn websense won’t let me look right now…
2:27 pm
I have Memphis losing to my ultimate sleeper, Maryland, in the 2nd round. So I was hoping they would lose today just to make it easier.
BTW, in case you’re interested in attending (or heckling), Michigan State is holding a pep rally in the City Center atrium tomorrow @ 4pm.
2:33 pm
I have Maryland going pretty far in bracket #2: school mascots. Really, it’s only because that region sucks for mascots. Although, I did have a great 1 v 4 huskies v huskies matchup.
Memphis only gets to the final four in maybe 2 or my 7 ridiculous brackets. And then I do “U Pick’em” where picks are game by game.
2:33 pm
@Baker
Pitt? The same Pitt that lost to West Virginia?
2:35 pm
I really need Cal to beat the Terps.
2:36 pm
yeah, yeah.
2:39 pm
You’re quite the optimist, aren’t you?
2:41 pm
Real bracket: 3 for 3. Bracket my cat picked: 2 for 3. Obama’s bracket that I submitted for my work pool: 2 for 3.
2:41 pm
Also, anyone behind a firewall who needs to know scores:

2:42 pm
yeah, I am.
We’ll see. I have them vs. UConn.
We should have had a mnspeak bracket for like 10 bucks, Bix!
2:42 pm
CINF, I’m curious about the process you used to have your cat choose your bracket. Please explain.
2:42 pm
@Baker
Oh God, UConn v Pitt? You’re more of an optimist than the Dali Lama.
2:45 pm
Don’t ever pay any heed to what top teams do in their conference tourneys. They have little to play for, and their opponents often have everything to play for. In-conference regular season road record and record vs. Top 50 RPI teams are what you should look at. That and mascots, and you know who has the best mascot.
2:47 pm
I picked several games, the teams of each were represented by a treat on the left or on the right. Whichever one he ate first was the winner.
We only did the first round, then I switched to a coin toss because he got bored and walked away. He was also sick yesterday because of it.
2:48 pm
yeah, a different strategy this year…
If PITT wins you owe me a beer yo
2:48 pm
All right, Panthers are starting to claw their way back.
2:48 pm
No, this would be the best mascot
Also, I’ve got Sparty losing in round 2 to the Trojans. Sorry. I’ve got them going further in other brackets, so you can feel good about that.
2:49 pm
@Baker
If they don’t make the final four you owe me a beer.
[handshake]
2:50 pm
@CINF
My cat’s kind of an asshole. I feel like he would have intentionally led me astray with his picks. He pulls that kind of stuff all the time.
2:52 pm
If they don’t make the final four I lose both brackets…
but ok, sounds good. I like how you dumbed down my bet…
2:53 pm
Bixby, we’re not sure that mine didn’t. Especially when he picked all upsets for three treats in a row.
4:18 pm
Oh my stars, Maryland just f’d up a ton of my brackets!
4:27 pm
i had em beating Cal in both brackets.
Then losing to Memphis..
4:31 pm
Good season Panthers! You were robbed, just like the MNVengers! (Although I didn’t see any of the game, but I’m sure it is true.)
5:35 pm
My Final Four:
Louisville
UNC
UConn
Xavier
only did one pool. 6-1 right now, lost on LSU who is just a sacrificial lamb for UNC anyways.
5:36 pm
I’m 7 for 7. Rock on.
5:57 pm
I see Doug is taking his defeat like a man.
6:04 pm
Well this is kind of depressing: My cat is 8 for 8. I’m 5 and 3.
6:05 pm
I just sent UTenn-Chattanooga an email kicking them out of my bracket for being too quiet during their trouncing by UConn. Really, they had to go, I heard Tennesee and Maryland almost quit because of UTC. I’ve been cherishing my time with March Madness over the past 14 or so years of my life and I told them that it’s best they not come to the tournament as a seeded team. I know it hurt them but it wasn’t really fair for me not to point them in the direction of the NIT.
I really do wish them the best.
Bixby
9:52 pm
11 for 12 now.
10:26 pm
My preferred state bracket is horrific. My percentile is 1.6. So, when it comes to losing that bracket is winning. I think I’m at 6/12 for that one. I’m at 10/12 on my higher brackets.
10:28 pm
Also, I refuse to watch any of the games on tv. I just check scores online. Less stressful.
10:31 pm
@Kurtis
DouglasG is has probably made his way to NCAA headquarters and is picketing it as we speak. I, however, consider UNI losing a necessary sacrifice during war time. Bracket war, that is.
11:30 pm
1. UCLA was killing me but ultimately didn’t.
2. Illinois: FAIL
3. I should’ve let my cat pick a bracket
4. Why is Michigan State rallying at City Center of all places. Why not the Crystal Court?
6:49 am
I had Minnesota winning it all. Was that bad?
9:31 am
I’m leading both my leagues!
My picks of Maryland and Michigan seems to be paying off. We’ll see what happens though, I had Illinois over W kty.
6:53 pm
In several brackets I actually had Cleveland State advancing. For reals.
Otherwise, all my brackets look awful.
7:02 pm
Watched the Gopher Women beat Notre Dame in South Bend this afternoon. They completely owned the Irish in the first half, the Irish ralled in the 2nd but couldn’t take the lead.
