I would be eternally grateful for a “move it or lose it” call before getting towed. I recently had to pay $305 to get my car back after it was towed from a lot where I had a parking pass. The whole debacle was the result of a mixup due to the fact that I’d had my car broken into in that same parking lot a few days earlier.
That was a great week . . .

Wouldn’t it be great, yes, to get a “move it or lose it call?” And technology is rapidly moving in that direction, anyway.
I recently saw some commercials for car navigation systems that would 1.) send an email saying the car had arrived safely at its destination, 2.) call your cell phone to alert you the car had been stolen.
So why can’t people be notified of an impending tow? However, before we get to THAT point, simply having real-time data available about towed vehicles is something of a no-brainer first step. You should be able to find your towed vehicle on the internet, just like you can find people who are in jail on internet jail rosters.
