Re: craiglist post

Dear lord, I don’t know whether to be shocked or laughing or what. At least the author seemed respectable enough.

Cash and prizes!!!!

Most people would have littered a recanting of an event like the one described in the craigslist post with profanity but this is downright literary. I only wish I had stories like that to share.

Growing up in Richfield, Lariat Lanes was a familiar destination for me when I joined an after-school bowling league from 6th thru 8th grades. (It helped that my best friend’s mom worked there, too.) I improved my average from, oh, 60 to a consistent 130-140. Best “latch key” program around back in the days before widespread daycare and school-organized afternoon activities. And we got a free hot dog.

And, yes, we had to walk uphill … both ways … with a hot potato in our pocket.

Noodle, you were lucky to have that hot potato, I only got a lukewarm turnip.

AND I LIKED IT!
