I needed some linear potentiometers that worked at liquid helium temperatures. Since they have like 50 different kinds, I just bought one of each and tested them all. Sure enough a couple worked.

Wow! That is cool, jeffk! What specifically did you send? My last Ax-Man purchase was nesting dolls with all the recent Russian/Soviet premiers.

I'm in the Observational Cosmology lab in the Physics department at the U. And this spring I sent things bought at Ax-Man into the stratosphere. Really!

Re: KC's trip to the zoo.

I can't believe KC ignored the obvious politics going on at the zoo and just decided to document the pretty animals. I guess I'll pick up the slack.

That sleeping bear is so sad. Realizing that he and his brethren are the official mascot of the current market, he's too depressed to get up and do anything.

That giraffe is adorable. I'd like to thank DeRusha for making sure that those giraffes are real American giraffes and foreign giraffes aren't stealing jobs from hard-working American giraffes/moving to the states to have anchor giraffe babies.

I assume the zebra is on it's way to a job fair and that crane has decided to enter beauty pageants to finance it's education since it can't get any other jobs.

That bison-type thing needs to stop relying on gov't hand outs and get off it's ass and do some work. It's not even trying to educate the crowds on itself. In fact, it did such a bad job that KC didn't even know what kind of animal it was. What a welfare bison-queen.

Finally, I think the wolf is warning the other animals that there's something not quite right about that patriotic eagle. It's got that crazy Bachmann look in it's eyes and I feel that it's planning to refused to be counted when the zoo inventories the animals to make sure that none of them have escaped. Also, it's encouraging the other animals to take up arms in preparation for a revolution against the zookeepers, who are trying to feed them and take care of them.

Also, I'm bored. So very bored.

Research? What kind of research?

I've had great luck finding cheap, quirky gifts for my cheap, quirky friends and relatives.

I love Ax-Man. I can't count the times I was able to find something there for use in my research that was perfect and nearly free.

Ax-Man and fun things to do in the city go well together. Pay a visit to those stores on a busy day and take in the sights and sounds of newbs who are fascinated by every odd, end, and campy product label.

Midway for selection, St. Louis Park for funnier labels, BTW.
