I Like You on Nicollet and about 42nd has all local, handmade goods in their store. A lot of which can also be found on Etsy. I totally love them.

The Splatgirl shop on Etsy has some cool fabrics and designs.  Her Modern In MN blog is pretty cool too but hasn’t been updated in a while.

peppermintkite does subversive cross-stitchery that always brightens my day!

etsy – hope for out of work graphic designers the world over.

So many cutesy anthropomorphic gender neutral creatures. Who knew you could have such success with an ecommerce site that helps people sell retro-hip buttons and yarn squids.

kind of a unequal relationship, isn’t kc? You love them, but they only like you?

MavenHaven is local.

And Olive Ewe Baby Too used to live in Longfellow, but now makes her child sweaters (from shrunken down reused adult sweaters) in Cleveland.

Touted many times on Girl Friday, but I can never say too many good things:

Best earrings: Kula

Best necklaces: Ferociter

Black Twig Design, by Margaret Pitmon. I bought my wife a necklace from there, and Margaret custom made some matching earrings for a birthday a couple months later.

Cool! So far I like Kristiana Parn’s prints, they have a very pleasing Japanese-like emphasis on line and asymmetry. Plus I madly love foxes, birds & trees.

Hello! Thank you for supporting local art!!! The Twin Cities are such a nurturing place for emerging and established artists…I am grateful for people (like the author and readers of this article) who promote our creative culture :)

I just placed some jewelry (miniature paintings on art glass with embedded silver) on Etsy for the first time – http://CJ3LLC.etsy.com. What a nice site for helping people live local! Please check it out, and also come on over to the Northrup King Building for a fun artistic outing and holiday shopping – http://northrupkingbuilding.com.

Happy Holidays!

Cari

Etsy is a financially-deprived artist’s haven. I think people deserve more of these sites that promote artistic stuff and at the same time, help these struggling artists. As of now, I’m already a big fan of Cari’s designs. These guys deserve to be there.
