As Emily Says So points out, the Humane Society is getting in more dogs than they are able to find families for. From the Strib: “Last week, 60 dogs came in on one day, [and] 20 were adopted,” said Deb Balzer, the organization’s media relations and marketing manager. Compare that with last month, when 13 dogs came in one day, and 10 were adopted.

I hope these homeless hounds all find a good family. I think we will remain a one-dog family.

Homeless dogs are the worst.

I would love to have another dog, but it isn’t in the cards right now.

Thinking about it, but I barely get any sleep as it is. I think a 10 month old laberman and new puppy/dog might be a little too much.

Oh, I’d love to foster too. I think foster dog parents are the best people in the whole world. The people we got Jeff from (his foster parents, he was from a shelter) clearly loved dogs and were so good to him.

We, the family with the big heart and too small brains, brought home a new little one to go with the big dumb one we adopted two years ago. Name is still up in the air, but we’re leaning toward Sancho Panza.
