Gopher football loses 3 scholarships for academic non performance

The Gopher football program was penalized for poor academic performance. The NCAA has taken away three scholarships for the next year.

Bad Gopher! Bad!

Too bad they can’t be penalized further for their perfomance on the field.

I’ve been trying to root for you guys for years, but you gotta give us fans something — other than a new stadium, that is.

The Rat couldn’t even bring himself to root for his alma mater.

If you’re not a U grad, how do you muster enthusiasm for the Gophers?

I think they should just hire the players and end this student-athlete sham. Make them like Minor League Baseball.

I think this is good news. Poor academic performance by the football team shows that, unlike the basketball team under Clem Haskins, the football team isn’t a bunch of cheaters. Kudos to them for taking the academic high-road of failure.
