A northern suburban man don’t need him around, anyway.

Old man, look at your life, you’re a lot like he is.

I didn’t make the show last night, but I did see Neil’s souped up super-cool custom built tour bus parked adjacent to my office yesterday.  He had the roof and windows of two 1953 Hudson Hornets welded on to the top of it for use as skylights.  Coolest tour bus ever, worthy of a rock legend.

I sent my dad and mom for a fathersday gift, hope they had fun

Whoa! Cool photo, g_rote.  Heh, Jane. Website of brotherly love, don’t turn your back on me….

@g_rote: Über-awesome photo. Über-awesome bus.

They are polar-opposites on the political spectrum. If Neil Young and Ted Nugent had a fight, who would win? And how?

Neil would bring a knife to a gunfight.

If Neil Young and Ted Nugent had a fight, who would win? And how?

There’s been other rock and roll battles something like that.

@Rat: I am reminded of the immortal words of G.W. Bush: “Fool me once, shame on … shame on you. It fool me. We can’t get fooled again.”

MNspeak is a child; it’ll last a while.

McDonald’s hamburgers are really good.

Culvers and Dairy Queen are much better if you are going the fast food route.

Don’t visit the Brooklyn Park Dairy Queen–they engage in age discrimination.  They will not hire people over forty which is a violationh of the Age Discrimination Employment Act of 1967.  Other Dairy Queens such as the one in Crystal will hire older people and so will Culvers.

@kc!: It all depends on what you buy from their menus, though. The basic McD burger (not a Quarter-Pounder; not a Big Mac; not a “McDouble”) is a heckuva lot less fattening and “more healthy” than anything on this list: 40 Burgers Than Can Kill You. DQ is on the list, along with 39 other fast-food and franchise artery-choaking monstrosities.

As a matter of fact, a McDonald’s cheeseburger is, on some levels, a wee bit healthier than DQ’s cheeseburger:

DQ
Calories: 340
Fat: 17g
Carbs: 29g

McD
Calories: 300
Fat: 12g
Carbs: 33g

Same differences, too, with their plain burgers:

DQ
Calories: 290
Fat: 12g
Carbs: 29g

McD
Calories: 252
Fat: 9g
Carbs: 31g

Oh, and a Culver’s Single Deluxe (w/o cheese or mayo) comes in at:

Calories: 344
Fat: 15g
Carbs: 34g

To be fair, though, it might be more proper to rank a Culver’s Single Deluxe alongside a Quarter Pounder (w/o cheese) or DQ Grillburger (w/o cheese).

Fact: The reason why char-broiled burgers (a la DQ and Burger King) taste so good has everything to do with the higher fat content of the meat that is used — somewhere around 75/25 vs the fattiest 80/20 ground beef you can buy at the store. McDonalds doesn’t use as fatty of meat for their burgers.
