What’s going on at the Channel 5 morning show? In the past week they’ve been using 3 anchors on every show, with 2 anchors at a time showing up on camera, and then every 15 minutes one of the anchors gets swapped out, and another goes in. I have never seen anything like this before.

b.rivera: It’s part of Hubbard’s new plan to improve ratings. If the audience numbers don’t spike after 15 minutes, the news anchor is removed from the set and executed.
(I’m kidding, but just barely)

On my way to beautiful (and it is!) Bird Island, MN on Highway 212.
E85/biodiesel promotion today. Wo wo.

Today is the 5th anniversary of the shiney little choo choo train we call LRT, or the Hiawatha Line.

Can anybody recommend a property management company in St. Paul? We’re moving out of state and looking to rent out our house. Thanks!
8:23 am
Actually, bob, I call it The Willis, in honor of Carl “The Big Train” Willis.
And is it just me or did KSTP just totally drop in a new 10pm anchor without telling anybody?
9:38 am
Kwatt, you are thinking of your “stories,” (the soap you and Bixby watch) where they dropped in a new actor for that one character. She told someone to tell you, so now I’m telling you.

We just played the new Spinal Tap album and it is great! Some songs were re-recorded; for example Sex Farm is now funk, Listen to the Flower People is reggae. Love my office.
After Spinal Tap, we played Billie Jean.

She’s referring to the new Adam Newman, and I like the old one better. By coincidence, I am afflicted with Victor Newman voice today.

Hey Max,
Do you know your way around the computer formatting at our site, or can you find someone who does?
I just posted my hoops column from another computer and it appears to be a novel on the home page, nada on my hoops page and confusing for the hardy folks who try to read it.
Thanks

Um, can we please take this time to discuss something very important that happened yesterday – The T-Wolves hoarding PGs in the draft yesterday and how I’ve revoked Ricky Rubio’s adorability after hearing that he does not want to play here?
2:22 pm
@Kwatt
Apparently my friend knew that they were replacing Adam but I did not not. I like old Adam better as well. He was so much better at pretending to be going blind. You can’t even tell with new Adam. Boo!
2:24 pm
Fixed the formatting.
2:28 pm
I don’t know if you make the call Max but I think this open thread deserves a mulligan?
2:33 pm
Yes. Let’s start over from right here.
FRIDAY OPEN THREAD 06.26.09
Here are the lamest people on Facebook: http://www.lamebook.com/
2:34 pm
Thats it…I’m calling it!
Threads official time of death: 2:26pm

What do you think of them bringing all these old characters back? I, for one, am thrilled to see Mac back. The original Mac actress was from Minnesota, which makes all Y&R discussion relevant to MNspeak, so EAT IT SPARBER.
2:55 pm
While Jazz does come across as a douche…he’s is in the right on calling that guy out for having the name Kelvin.
2:56 pm
In other news; its my birthday.
3:06 pm
So you want us to buy you something?
3:09 pm
happy b-day ryanol. Mine’s tomorrow!
I am being treated by my new wife to Vincent tonite for eats. Has anyone eaten there?
3:14 pm
@rat yeah “grunt food”
Baker nice…I got some rapalas and a piker mepps spinner kit from the lady. She took me to Lone Spur grille in hopkins…not quite as chichi as your get up but the smoked turkey leg was phenomenal.
3:18 pm
@Kwatt
I didn’t watch the show until late ‘06, so I don’t mind. Actually, the original Mac actress went to school with me. I didn’t know her but I knew of her. She was a couple of years behind me.
3:37 pm
sweet, you can catch dinner–always tastes better fresh from the water.
3:40 pm
I can’t pinpoint exactly when I became so p*ssed *ff today, but d*mn am I in a bad mood. Do not approach me.
3:41 pm
Now I just have to steal away enough time to get to the cabin.
3:49 pm
@bixby
So you have no recollection of when Nina worked with Paul’s PI agency? Wow.
4:25 pm
nope.
5:33 pm
Fucking Lamebook. I laughed so hard I cried.
6:51 pm
@bixby
I’m pretty sure today’s ending was a daytime TV first.
10:04 pm
I don’t know about this Lamebook business. I think we’re just trying way too hard to be snarky these days. And yeah, a lot of the people they’re (f)laming are also trying to hard to be snarky. But a little golden rule goes a long way.
10:46 pm
but did you see the Ratcoon? Funniest damn thing ever.
7:05 am
@kurtis: Lamebook is funny precisely because it’s not people trying to be snarky.
@kc!: I almost busted a gut when I saw that, too. The Transformers thread was also outstanding. I’m thankful, though, that none of these people are my FB friends. lol
8:17 am
I don’t get it.
11:41 am
RATCOON!
And yes, I loved the Transformers thread too.
