Inside somewhere.

It looks like the Twin Cities is a good place to sell bikes.

No parking signs are my favorite. There’s just something right about parking where cars can’t.

True dat, jane

Umm…anywhere?

Having had three bikes stolen I tend not to lock up anywhere outside.

Parking meters are a favorite. In Uptown, there’s a nice bike rack behind the Walker Library, right across from the Uptown Theater.

These #mce_temp_url# might know where to park a bike in Minneapolis.

I’d rent a bike locker, if I could, in Downtown Minneapolis. But there are something like 5 in the whole downtown area. So I lock my bike at HCMC when I ride my bike halfway to work, then take the bus the second half way.

I’m pretty sure it is illegal to lock your bike to a sign post. Not positive though, and what choice do people have?

There’s a bike rack at ALAMN headquarters. There’s one bike there now.

Yes, it is technically illegal to lock your bike to a sign post.

The bike lockers I’ve seen DT (2 areas) are under bridges or in otherwise dark, dicey areas. Forget it. Completely ripe for being mugged. No chance I would ever use one of those lockers.

My building has a sign at each door saying NO BICYCLES and they have a bike locker rental in the building for tenants, but I’m cheap and I want my bike with me in my office b/c I just like my bike.

Plus it is fun sneaking in with my bike. I take the freight elevator.

When I’d take the LRT downtown and then bike the four blocks to work, I was allowed to bring my bike into the building. My boss let me store it each day in her office. :)

Like Jane there is a sign on the door that says, “No Skateboard, No Rollerblades, and No Bicycles”. I bring my bike inside, and my boss rollerblades… We’re just a couple of rebels!

I was accosted last week about bringing my bike inside. She asked me where I was going to park my bike. I said I park it in my office. She said, “Oh! You’re one of those…” Yes I am!

“Oh! You’re one of those…” Stinky, sweaty employees?

@Baker: I was freshly showered at the time…

just kidding. I am just being facetious ans snarky today for some reason.

Not according to Ward 2. As long as it doesn’t block the sidewalk, you can lock your bike to any street sign (but not trees) in Minneapolis. See page 3 of this pdf.

This Metblog post agrees (but warns against locking to parking meters, which makes sense).

But then THIS site from Chisago City/Lindstrum claims it is illegal in Minneapolis.

My last job at the  U, my boss kept his bike in his office most times (during snowy winters, he’d stick under a stair well). He’d often ride it down the hall form his office to the outer door if it was after 5:30 or so, and most people were gone.

I go in the door, to the stairs, down the stairs and into my office. There is not much chance to ride it in the halls. However, after the zombie apocalypse…

Whoops, my last post was supposed to be about chicks on bikes, not internet fail. I’m happy to say that my bike is leaning against my desk right now, drying off. The woman at the front door I think felt pity for me today rather than disgust.

Speaking of the Zombie Apocalypse, if you haven’t read World War Z, you really should.

I’m still lobbying for proper bike racks at work. It’s a Christian UNIVERSITY for fuck’s sake!

Wow, the “he” and “fu” are like right next to eachother.

Hats off to Rainbow Foods in Uptown for recently upgrading from a junior high rack to a heavy duty rack.
