Bachmann Says Franken Stole Election

To be fair, so did the op/ed page of the Wall Street Journal.

There is no doubt, Bachmann is a rising star for some. As for being a better comedian than Franken, that may be true. Is she a better lawmaker? We’ll see.

Franken is, by far, a better comedian. If anyone’s competing against him in this regard it’s Klobuchar. Better lawmaker? Trying to be a better lawmaker than Michele Bachmann is like trying to be a better athlete than someone in a coma.

Not boring… OK, but Jesse Ventura wasn’t boring, and was a terrible governor. Lots of people aren’t boring, but i wouldn’t want them running anything important.

Perhaps voters in this country are just really, really bored? What can we do to fix that problem?

For someone who is likely facing a very close election in less than a year, it seems irresponsible to accuse the winner of a close election of stealing it. But hey, ACORN!!!

If she looses, she can always say she “was robbed.” Palin is proving that you don’t need public office to maintain a high public profile.

Actually, Ventura’s first two years worked out pretty well. It was the last two that got rocky, once both parties lost their fear of the popular Independent and boxed him in. Jesse Ventura’s biggest enemy has always been Jesse Ventura.

Once lasting remnant of the Ventura years are his judicial picks, with most legal experts say were the best judges in anyone’s memory.

But if she wins, she will have stolen it.

I’m just about the only here who lives in her district. If she wins, she will win fair and square. She has the advantage of a growing national base of supporters, unusualy high media coverage (for a House member with no key role in governing) and a warchest bursting with cash.

Either callenger Tarryl Clark or Maureen Reed will have to run a flawless and smart campaign to win MN-6.

The only real question posed to MN-6 voters is:

Polaris or Artic Cat?

@justpbob: I share your opinion re: Ventura. Jesse didn’t get weird until after 9/11. It wasn’t necessarily his fault that both the IR and DFL looked upon him as an insurgent and treated him like one.

One big thing Jesse screwed up: he probably had an opportunity to build the IP party by leveraging his early popularity. If he had shown some interest in the party beyond his own election need, the IP might very well have managed to get some people elected to the legislature.

I agree, mnblrmkr.

Jesse Ventura’s biggest enemy has always been Jesse Ventura.

Well, and Sergeant Slaughter.

I think we need to shut down all media. They have abdicated completely their responsibility for reporting news.

Dougie_D: The for-profit media’s primary responsibility (one that many are starting to fail at) is making a profit, not reporting news. That’s just something they do to fill up the empty space around the commercial messages.

People keep making the mistake the the news media exist as some sort of public service. They don’t.

I think most people see news as something more than just filler around commercials. It’s not “just something they do” like reality shows or cartoons could be just dropped in there, instead.

Dougie’s just typing words onto a screen.

Okay, so let’s just call it even for 2000 and move on.

Also, Ventura got weird long before 9/11 and before he left office.

“Okay, so let’s just call it even for 2000 and move on.”

Not even close to even…yet.

Bob then in fairness and truth in advertising they should not be able to call what they do “news”.

In relation to this thread, what “abdication” are you talking about? What media failing has taken place?

Sorry, they don’t have to be fair, either. Many do their best. It’s a tough job.

The for-profit media’s primary responsibility (one that many are starting to fail at) is making a profit, not reporting news.

It wasn’t always that way. I blame Larry Tisch, via Reagan, for making newsrooms profit centers.

I think there is a difference between being fair and being outright fraudulent. I think the moral majority decided a long time ago that ethics have no place in America. What God and my heart tell me is right and damn the information. Money will buy my way into heaven.

Again, Dougie what does your thoughts on the Moral Majority have to do with the news?

Rat what does your sad ass have to do with anything?

Just curious what the Sam Hill you were talking about. OK

(via MN Independent) “Bachmann will be showcased at yet another such affair: the National Tea Party Convention in February. But Bachmann won’t get top billing: that honor goes to Sarah Palin.”

Well, Arnie killed him in the running man.
