via CNN: As people become disillusioned from financial woes and a downtrodden economy and look to put new purpose in their lives, everyday folks are taking on new personas to perform community service, help the homeless and even fight crime.
An accompanying photo shows a “superhero” named Geist, looking a bit like The Spirit, patroling Rochester, MN.

Then there’s the “would-be” superheroes. Just about a superhero. Guys, who for lack of a certain vital gene or chromosome that would give them superhero powers end up like this man.
Instead of a life seeking justice, law and order, he finds himself getting arrested a lot and terrifying a lot women.
Mildly NSFW.

I’m curious to know why Rochester gets a superhero but Minneapolis or St. Paul don’t yet have one?
Is it because Rochester’s police force is under-staffed or something? Or maybe MSP does have a superhero but the media is keeping it under wrap for fear of embarrassing the local constabulary?
Where’s Brock Lesnar when you need him?!

Its a little safer to be a superhero in Rochester.
Think about it, the commute is better, the medical facilities are top notch and your Boy Wonder can wear tights without getting the whistles and lears from that rude Loring Park crowd.

Plus, in Rochester you will actually be thought of as a superhero instead of just another crazy dressed up person.

I have always been a fan of The Phantom.
Sure, his costume is silly as heck, but when you pack a pair of .45 automatics and a pair of Bengal tigers got your back, nobody dares laugh…

Minneapolis/St. Paul area has several Real-Life Superheroes (RLSHs). Razorhawk, Shadowflare, Legacy and the Celtic Viking. I’ve patrolled downtown Minneapolis several times with these folks as a founding member of the Great Lakes Heroes Guild. KSTP news did a piece about us that you can see at http://kstp.com/news/stories/S849976.shtml?cat=1
My home is in Rochester, so southeastern Minnesota is primarily where I patrol. But I’ve patrolled Central Park and Manhattan, too.
