Someone should do a post like this every week, eh?
Not so tethered to current events and news – just entertaining/weird/interesting.
(I know, Flak Radio is a podcast not a blog. Sosumi.)

Just a few more days until we can say that MNSpeak was better when Chuck was here.
10:11 am
why should I care that a restaurant that was too expensive for me to ever go to anyway closed? I’m not exactly broken up about this.
10:11 am
Awesome post. Some cool blogs I never checked out before.
10:23 am
On Chuck’s recommnedation, I’m sure that Sharyn @ Mass Distraction is cool/nice/interesting…but I just have an aversion to reading girl-with-cat-blogs. She lost me in the 1st paragraph.
10:30 am
I’m lovin’ Jon’s Bee Gees/Riemenschneider rant.
10:39 am
Grote just started misting up so you couldn’t finish you big softy!

Neurosis is ubiquitous on the interwebs.
10:52 am
OK, you got me, I have a big soft spot for pussy on the web.

I must say in a fairly short time, Zimmern’s blog has become one of the best blogs I read. Chock full of insight, opinion, attitude and it’s totally in his voice. I’ve never met the good chef, but for those of us who dabble in blogging… I think his is a template for a focused blog.

Yeah, I went to the St. Paul Luce the other day. It was dead, and the few people who were there seemed like curious neighborhood residents. The place still had that new-restaurant smell. Seems like the opening was pretty under the radar.
11:20 am
They have been advertising the St Paul Pizza Luce for quite some time at the other resturants and had full page ads in both the City Pages and Onion this week. I wish I was in the delivery area.
There are many times I would love a Spanish Chicken with Goat cheese and Bianca sauce delivered to the front door. The cut off in NE is Broadway.
12:49 pm
Aw, Henry, you’re too kind.
12:54 pm
The new Lucé opened for the neighbors a day or two earlier than it did for everyone else. I forgot the blogger that posted about it but she lives like a block away. I should have bookmarked her site. I visited a couple days later (after they posted something on their MySpace blog and then subsequently got linked on Metroblogging). The bartender said they weren’t really doing much to promote it right then as they were testing the waters and getting the “kinks worked out.” They ended up closing around the New Year and re-opened fully on January 3rd. It reminds me a lot of the Seward location. A friend of mine near downtown Saint Paul tested out the delivery and was pleased. Overheard at the bar was a delivery guy talking about how the roads in Saint Paul are fucked up – but he seemed to really understand exactly why and knew all the right routes to take… I suppose the stuff you need to understand if you’re going to be a top notch delivery guy from Lucé.
What’s bad for me is that it’s right off of my commute home from work – it’ll be hard to resist not having a pint and a slice.
2:11 pm
I actually like the St. Paul Lucé a lot better than the Seward one. I also think it is the second-most seating out of all of them in the Metro. And it’s a mile from my house!
2:25 pm
We went to the new Lucé right when it opened and were pleased. I also tested out the delivery service the next day and was so freakin’ happy that they deliver to Lowertown. There is no pizza delivery here other than the awful chains so I haven’t had a delivered pizza in over ten years.
Truly and terrible terrible tragedy.
So yes, I’m happy now.
2:33 pm
St. Paul – We have a Pizza Luce now, can we sit at the adults table?
6:36 pm
Will Jon forever be known as “Diablo’s hubby”?
6:43 pm
Not the worst thing to be known as…
8:45 pm
Gah, I post something cat-related about twice a year. Seriously. It was just bad timing.
Story of my life.
9:38 pm
That alexis woman had “relations” with some old star trek dude? Am I reading that right?
10:14 pm
That’s Mr. Cody to you, Kate and Derusha.
10:08 am
Also, the blog has been rather depressing as of late, but check back next week for a fresh start. All will be happiness and light. Sunshine and unicorns. Or something.
10:13 am
Some of those comments on the Osama/Obama post at American Idle make MnSpeak commenters seem totally rational and level-headed.
12:12 pm
Sharyn…It took some trying, I finally made it past the cat post. The photography is amazing, and the tone of late is quite understandable. My deepest sympathies. Yes, Simp, I might be a softy after all.
11:25 pm
That Girl Friday blog is fascinating, only because it’s so goddamn boring. Blah, blah, lip gloss, blah, blah, Blackberry, blah, blah, boys buy me drinks. Gross.
Those other ones are a fun distraction. The archives will make work palatable tomorrow. I also love the Pizza Man blog on CityPages.
3:27 am
It’s funny to hear some no talent ass-clown in a shitty band (I saw them, it was funny-bad) dissing The Hold Steady.
10:44 am
Thanks grote. But don’t worry, I am officially back to form…with a fresh batch of cat-free geekgrrrl posts.
11:56 am
Seriously! The Girl Friday blog. So shallow. Blah, blah, overpriced potstickers, blah, blah, idiotic restaurant reviews about the one crappy vegetarian entree on the menu, blah blah still clinging to remnants of an imagined punk-rock youth. Gross is right.
