Few people truly aspire to be defined by their ethnic or religious background. For those that want to be defined this way, do the titles of African Americans, Native Americans, Caucasians, Jews, Catholics, Muslims, make people brim with pride when members of their particular affiliated groups speak loudly, and hatefully, about others? Too many of us still define ourselves this way.

Others of us want to be defined as a man, a woman; a human being who ultimately aspires to fairness, justice, integrity, and equality. We want to see this world become a better place for our loved ones, for those we know, and those we disagree with too.

A person who has integrity models it in private, just as much as they act-out in public. Chris Stewart says his spoof Tammy Lee website was meant only for his friends and him to view. The behaviors chosen and manifested in private often are windows to the real soul within. Closet bigotry cloaked as satire is still bigotry - and it knows no race, religion, or gender boundaries.

Now back to our regularly scheduled vitriol.

We'll have an orderly transition to a new government, and god willing, to some end to the war, sometime sooner rather than later.

See, this is what depresses me. The american people, thrugh their votes for the democrats, have decided once again that they're more interested in ending the war than in winning it. Vietnam redux. Kinda rubs me the wrong way, but I don't expect you youngsters to either get it or care. Bartel should know better.
Hey, take it easy on the Diz. Dizzy is a poor patch on Raindog when it comes to being ridiculously repetitively repulsively annoying. Let's face it, we've all become a bit repetitive around here the last few months.

So, to sum up the last few months:

Raindog hates Bachmann.

Dizzy thinks Ellison is dangerous. Dizzy also thinks the Strib is a crappy newspaper. One out of two aint all that bad.

Max thinks Dog and Diz are both idiots, but will cut Dog some slack because she likes Ellison.

I don't think Ellison is dangerous, because it's not like he's ever going to get access to intelligence data and nobody in Washington except his fellow blowhards on the judiciary committee will have to listen to him. (Can you believe he asked to be on the judiciary committee, btw? What about something that matters to Minnesota, like transportation or agriculture?)

Maza, despite his lack of research and a propensity to lift his talking points and lines straight from Rush, is at least sincere, and for the most part, cordial.

Bud's funny.

g rote's funnier though.

The whole damn country has been in a dark cloud for a long time now. We're in a war, for heaven's sake, and except for the explosions, the whole country's been acting like Shiites and Sunnis.

Hey, we just had an election. We'll have an orderly transition to a new government, and god willing, to some end to the war, sometime sooner rather than later.

Americans have just shown themselves to be mostly good, albeit a little slow on the uptake. Let's try to act like we can have a civil discussion, even if it's just an act.

Now back to our regularly scheduled vitriol.
