Eden Prairie’s a Great Place to Live

I don’t really know about Eden Prairie, but any magazine that previously cited Blaine, Egan and Rochester on their lists has no credibility.

Here we go… Lets just get it out there… Suburbs suck.

So if I move to EP will I make $105K? If you moved that city another 400 miles west it would not be on the list. If the people who lived there didnt work elsewhere it would not be on the list. If you moved all the people who work at the restaurants and gas stations in EP into town it would not be on the list.

It is too bad Minneapolis can’t get some credit for spawning this little paradise.

Doesn’t this happen about every six months?

Wow does EP sound like an unpleasant place, populated by unpleasant people. How many anti-tax groups does one crappy white-flight suburb need?

YOU GUYYYYYYYYYYS, MY PROPERTY TAX IS TOO HIGH! I ONLY MAKE ONE BAZILLION DOLLARS A YEAR AND DON’T WANT TO PAY TAXES BECAUSE I NEED ALL THAT MONEY FOR USELESS MATERIAL GOODS TO KEEP UP WITH THE JONESES! MY LIFE IS REALLY THAT EMPTY AND MEANINGLESS!

To tie this in with Dizzy’s concern about how Keith Ellison and CAIR are going kill us all — boy, it would really, really suck if Al Qaeda launched a strike against the No. 10 Best Place to Live in America.

I kid, I kid.

So Case thinks it’s a Big Tobacco conspiracy to unseat him, huh?

Well, I for one would not vote against a man for voting his conscience, but as soon as I saw he had the support of a douche bag trial lawyer like Wildfang, I’m voting for the other guy.

“To tie this in with Dizzy’s concern about how Keith Ellison and CAIR are going kill us all”

Wow, what an accurate summation of my views! Brilliantly done, Mike S. Radical Muslims are laughing right now at clueless Americans like Mike S who think the whole terror threat is a big joke. Yep, it’s a real knee-slapper!

By the way, MNSpeak sure has been boring the last few days – isn’t there, like, some kind of election coming up?

Speaking of Ellison

Dizzy weren’t you the one screaming for a Poll in the 5th?

IN YOUR FACE, WHITEY!

yep, that was me

Sorry I was born white. I really can’t help it.

And yeah, the poll was kinda disappointing, but it’s nice to know where things stand.

I personally take some comfort in the fact that Ellison will get less than 50 percent of the Democratic vote in one of the most Democratic districts in the country – Sabo used to get 70 percent or more, every election. Lee will probably get about 30 percent. Fine will get 20. Ellison will get 45. What a “mandate” for victory for a Democratic candidate in a 75% DFL district!

Ellison’s a terrible candidate and he’ll be a terrible congressman, hopefully for only a term or two. As one of 435 members of the House, he’ll have about as much power as my left big toe nail.

Congrats to all you Ellison supporters – you’re on your way to electing a law-disregarding bigot to fill Martin Sabo’s seat. Sour grapes on my part? Sure, why not? It’s a free country.

I’m actually not that pissed off at Ellison himself for this whole debacle. No, it’s more the south Minneapolis white crowd that didn’t think consorting with Farrakhan or CAIR was a big deal. Guess all prejudice is bad, unless it’s directed at Jews. Then – nah, no biggie!

(Cue the usual suspects dragging out 5 examples of prominent local Jews who supported Ellison – and that will then be used to claim that Ellison had broad support in the local Jewish community, which is patently false, as anyone who attended the Jewish Community Center debate yesterday could plainly see, as the atmosphere in the room was one of palpable, and justifiable, rage against Ellison).

To quote my friend Borat:

“Very Nice!”

Dizzy: Brilliantly done, Mike S. Radical Muslims are laughing right now at clueless Americans like Mike S who think the whole terror threat is a big joke. Yep, it’s a real knee-slapper!

The point of terrorism is to terrorize. I’m not terrorized. I don’t think there’s much reason to feel terrorized in MN — or in the vast majority of the country, for that matter.

The amount of sheer hysteria in certain segments of this state over terrorism is a bigger victory for “Radical Muslims” than anything Keith Ellison and CAIR are going to come up with.

One nice thing about suburbs like EP (that’s what this thread is about, isn’t it?) is that only those who live or work here can find their way around. It otherwise becomes rather tricky to navigate. So yeah, it’s a great place to live, (if you can afford it,) but a terrible place to visit. It would have been easier if they had just put a wall around the city.

Kudos mike_s.

Don’t let fear-mongers win!

The mere fact that you put “Radical Muslims” in quotes indicates just how ignorant you are of the threat from radical Islam.

I’m not “terrorized” – just realistic.

But hey, don’t take my word for it. Go watch some TV from radical Muslims:
http://memritv.org/

Do you think they’re kidding when they say they want to kill you?

History is full of dead people who belittled very real threats and, in the end, paid a horrible price for not taking those threats seriously.
It’s your choice – though it won’t be any fun for me to say “I told you so” when they successfully attack an American city with a chemical or biological or nuclear (or even just a dirty bomb) weapon.

It’s gonna happen in our lifetime. It’s not a question of “if” but “when”.

That’s not quite true. That poll went after likely voters of all affiliations. I doubt very much that 24% of self-identified Democrats will be voting for Fine.

By the way, how am I supposed to have an intelligent conversation with somebody about whether Keith Ellison has ties to terrorist-supporters if that person doesn’t think that terrorism represents a genuine threat? Mike S seems to be saying “yes, Keith Ellison has ties to terror-sympathizers like CAIR, but terrorism doesn’t threaten me, so who cares?”

Furthermore, I have one larger question for anybody who wants to answer it. It’s a two-parter:

1. Is there a genuine threat from radical Islam to our safety and security and way of life?
2. Has our government failed us in the last few years by invading Iraq and “creating more terrorists” and not capturing Osama Bin Laden?

You see, you can’t logically answer “yes” to both of them. If you don’t think there is a terrorist threat, period, then why are you worried about not capturing Bin Laden or creating more terrorists in Iraq (after all, they don’t exist, right?).
Conversely, if you ARE worried about creating more terrorists and not capturing Bin Laden (a much more understandable position), you can’t very well then argue that there’s no genuine threat from terrorism – after all, if there isn’t a real danger, why worry about creating more terrorists in Iraq and not catching Bin Laden?

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

I feel pretty terrorized by radical baptists that want to take away all my social freedoms because their interpretation of the bible says doing X is naughty bad and sinful! Nevermind that I don’t believe what they do or agree, because this is a CHRISTIAN NATION so I should have to live by CHRISTIAN MORALITY enforced through legislation and ultimately force.

No thanks, realy. Remind me again how much pull muslims have in congress (or state goverments) right now for getting ridiculous legislation passed that attacks social liberties? Last time I checked, muslims in america typically don’t prosthletize nearly as much as christians do (somali cab drivers aside). For we of little (or no, really) faith, being constantly hounded by conservative religious nutjobs over lifestyle choices (or in some cases not a choice at all, but how one was born) has a lot more impact than a foreign boogeyman who happens to be muslim.

1)Sure. There are also bigger genuine threats to my safety and security from radical Christianity, fascist totalitarians, most corporations and governments, global warming, ecological collapse, and pig feces polluted spinach. As for your way of life, I think it sucks.

2)Yes. Our government has also failed us in countless other ways, such as making the rich richer and the poor poorer, falsifying scientific data, the collapse of New Orleans and its incompetent aftermath, and, oh yeah, allowing the existence of Eden Prairie.

You can’t have your oil and use it too.

Eden Prairie eats their young.

Eden Prairie wishes it were as cool as Maple Grove.

JD up in tha MG

Chanhassen, Chan Polling, and Hopkins are da bomb. The other suburbs suck. Minneapolis is great, except those multiple times I got shot trying to see a show at first ave.

It would have been easier if they had just put a wall around the city.

We’re working on it. Give us time.
