Carlson’s support is meaningful not only because he crossed party lines …
How so?
10:45 am
Maza,
Carlson was an Elmer Andersen Republican. That’s how so.
10:46 am
Elmer L that is
10:47 am
Oh, you mean a democrat.
10:52 am
Independent-Republican is the term. You’re old enough to know that they were closer to the likes of the current Independence Party than Democrats.
Also, “democrat” is different from “Democrat,” much as “republican” is different from “Republican.”
11:12 am
Actually, Independent-Republican was an attempt by the minnesota republicans to distance themselves from Nixon after Watergate. I always thought it was a gutless move and eventually they started calling themselves Republicans again.
11:22 am
Even if that is the case, they still ended up more like the IP than the modern GOP. Coincidentally, they got more done, too.

Coincidentally, they got more done, too.
Which is not always a good thing.

Isn’t it obvious that until we start ignoring Maza he won’t go away.
Just just pretend he’s the ugly secret at Thankgiving Dinner that no one wants to talk about.
Come on Minnesotan’s were the best at ignoring unpleasant things in the entire world. Let’s start exercising some of those powers!

Exactly! Why do we need to spend all of our time responding to him?
Perhaps we could have a special thread for him to post in, and if people feel like beating their heads against a wall, they can do so in that thread. The rest of us (including thoughtful conservative voices like kwatt, et. al.) can have less painful discussions elsewhere.
I’m not interested in limiting discourse, but it just doesn’t make sense to allow one person to so totally dominate and steer the course of discussion here. Matt? Anybody?

Hey, at least I’ve had the guts to register. (bleeping wasichu)

Hey, at least I’ve had the guts to register
He’s got you there, boys and girls!
12:05 pm
So you register with a website that doesn’t load, a potentially fake picture and a yahoo address.
That’s really putting yourself out there!

It’s too bad the website’s down … you could really benefit from its message. And you’re right about that picture. I’m really better looking than that.
12:15 pm
Did someone say something?
I felt a chill!
12:17 pm
Where’s my friend Max? He’ll defend me.
12:35 pm
Let the poor guy alone!
12:42 pm
That’s exactly what I’m doing…Leaving him be, ignoring him, letting him speak to my hand, turning a blind eye, letting it fall on deaf ear, and whatever other phrase you would like to add.

My new favourite political ad is the one the National Republicans have placed on behalf of Michelle Bachman, which include a lovely graphic displaying “ITS SAD” in big, bold letters – what’s REALLY sad is not properly using apostrophes when they’re called for. I wish I could find an online version to share with you, but I guess that isn’t the type of clip Brodkorb will place on YouTube for my convenience.
Man, this is some funky campaign. In the same 24 hour period, not only do we get the Bachmann/minister story Matt linked above (here’s the WCCO/AP version), but also, the Wetterling staffer fired over email story. Say, maybe people should give John P. Binkowski another look…or a FIRST look.
1:02 pm
Oh, also, I really like Rebecca Otto’s TV spots.

It was actually a quite moving website, in terms of content. However, the production values were, um, less than stellar. If Maz did the web design he did the web design, he might want to stick to trolling on liberal biased discussion boards. Remember…the medium is the message.
2:55 pm
I can’t take credit for the website. It happens to be one that someone sent me a link to because they knew I would appreciate it.
3:17 pm
this site was worse when Maz was here.

Is is possible we could replace him with a non-Christian version, perhaps a nice libertarian type? At least then discussions can be slightly intellectual and we don’t have to worry about being called immoral, you know, for eating shrimp or some such thing.
