Kennedy Takes Down Web Site

hahaha, what a a joke.
Notice the verbage: ‘a senior member of klobuchar’s campaign.’

Minnesota Republican Watch has a great post on this.

Kennedy’s people have never heard of “view source” evidently.

I needed a good laugh. Thanks.

be sure to check it out on Wonkette yesterday, too!

Whatever they did with that site made my browser (Firefox, Mac) start acting really crazy after I followed a link to it yesterday. Pages on other sites would not load, images and CSS were really strange and would load arbitrarily or not at all. Before that, things had been fine. After visiting the site I literally had to quit my browser, clear the cache, look back through the 5 million javascript errors which were thrown by that site and then clear out the Javascript Console before continuing on with other mega important web surfing duties. I’ve been “hacked” by malicious code on the Mark Dayton for Senate website!!!!111

Also, the contribution page is called something like index_temp.aspx. Hmm, when I removed the _temp, it showed the active page with all links intact. I did it all on my own, without hearing about it first from the liberal blogosphere. Does that make me a hacker?

what a retard.

also, now that i’ve recovered from being hacked by the mark kennedy for senate website and had a few hours to sleep it off, i am left to wonder as to the fate of this top secret campaign ad. was it not intended for public viewing? will it be scrapped now that it has been discovered? released direct to DVD and distributed via late night TV commercials? what’s the deal?

it seems odd that they haven’t quickly released it to the media so the media can play snippets over and over. isn’t that standard operating procedure with this type of charade?

I dunno. I think you overestimate 1) how computer savvy Kennedy is and 2) how much time he has to care.

This kind of stuff happens to normal people all the time. He’s an executive in a decision making roll. He doesn’t have a lot of time to spend/waste going over his internet facade with a comb. I mean, who cares?

So, Mark Kennedy can’t “secure” a website and he’s going to protect America how exactly? Even being 20 points down in the polls doesn’t excuse this lame attempt at making political hay. And what is the point of the website now? Silly analogs.

he’s going to protect America how exactly?

Hopefully, by keeping another liberal out of the u.s. senate.

wow your logic is impeccable.

seriously, have you ever considered a career in debate?

Yeah, an incompetent liar is always preferable to a competent liberal.

Oh Minnesota, you so crazy!

Kennedy is not only a FRAUD and a LIAR he’s a goddamn PUSSY!

No surprise.

raindog, you always offer such valuable insight to this board…

I wonder how much new traffic to K’s website has been driven by this “story” – I mean, I sure never went there before yesterday, and it’ll probably have absolutely no effect on whoever ends up with my vote (or perhaps even the votes of others), but I wonder just the same.

Kennedy is not only a FRAUD and a LIAR he’s a goddamn PUSSY!

The real pussies are the media for not covering this. If they had any balls they’d be all over this. Wouldn’t want to appear biased, though. Someone might write them a letter.

Mark Kennedy. I wouldn’t vote for him, but I’d totally sleep with him. Anyone else feel the same?

I wouldn’t vote for him, but I’d totally sleep with him. Anyone else feel the same?

Between him and Klobuchar, it’s actually a close call. Closer than the poll numbers anyway. And I’m straight.

five bot, don’t his eyes sort of creep you out?
Imagine what his ‘Oh’ face would be like….

Is amyklobuchar.com not coming up this afternoon for anybody else? Naturally, I immediately suspect a conspiracy of some sort.

Guess I’ll go slumming on Fitzie’s site instead.

One thing this whole thing proves once again is that Democrats are better geeks than Republicans. Don’t be surprised when you start hearing the Right start all-jawwin’ ‘about “them liberals are hackers…just like Iraqis who bombed the WTC!”

Like Matt said, we here may all know a little about how HTML works to know this was a pure ploy — but if the local media doesn’t respond by saying something alongs the lines of “Kennedy’s site, while “down” temporarily, wasn’t actually down at all. Now, we don’t expect all of our viewers to know how the Web actually works, but let’s hear from both sides of the story. Jason DeRusha has the story…Jason?”

OK. Back to my own regularly scheduled program of lying horizontal, coughing up my lungs, drinking tea, and watching the American Ryder Cup team roop on itself.

Here’s a dramatization of what it’s like for conservative and liberals to discuss any issue, much less HTML, as acted out by Bjork and P Diddy.

diddybjork

What a fuckin screw up. Kennedy is a total L-O-S-E-R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark Kennedy is a disgrace to the Kennedy family. Teddy Kennedy is probably rolling over in his grave at the site of this.

Mark Kennedy is such a fuckin’ weenie…..I’m glad to see Amy Klobuchar sticking it to him in the polls…..this contest is over!

five bot, don’t his eyes sort of creep you out?
Imagine what his ‘Oh’ face would be like….

Aiyee! That photo ruins it. His ‘oh!’ face would have to be face-down.

So, all high-roller Pat Shortridge has been able to do with the Kennedy campaign is make Mark somewhat palatable to gays.

Funny, as I recall it was a staffer on the Klobuchar campaign that did the wrong thing. Yet, all of you are attacking Kennedy….

Looks like apologists to me.

Hey, Jimhill, it was a blogger who dug up the ad. The staffer merely looked at the ad, for which she was fired. The incident was properly reported immediately to the FBI. But don’t let the truth get in your way. Remain a stooge of the liars at all cost, because your ideology is more important that the truth, right?

Speaking of truth, Kennedy now seems to have dropped the pretense of “my site was hacked” and gone back to normal operation of slagging Klobuchar directly.

This is all a conspiracy of the liberal left-wing media. They planted the leak so that Amy could do the right thing and look better than Mark.

TBartel, I think you need to reread your dictionary’s definition of “immediately.” Klobuchar sat on this information for four days. FWIW, deliberately misstating facts to refute a legitimate question does make you sound an awful lot like an apologist.

What lies? When push comes to shove, you can smear Republicans of lying, but I bet you can’t actually find any…

reported immediately to the FBI. But don’t let the truth get in your way. Remain a stooge of the liars at all cost, because your ideology is more important that the truth, right?

So why did it take five days? And it’s not like Democrats care about the truth, Clinton lied to our faces under oath, Al Gore created that whopper of having invented the internet, and the list of Democrat lies goes on.

“In their arrogance, modern liberals believe in nothing greater than themselves and that whatever they say anything that advances their agenda must be ‘the truth.’”

Speaking of whoppers, I know its a useful myth that Al Gore claimed he invented the Internet, but he never said it.

When accusing the democrats of lying, it might be nice, you know, not to lie about it.

Hey, I found a Republican liar! Right here on this very Web site!

Msparber, you’re lying. What does this quote look like to you? (Emphasis mind)

During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country’s economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.

Even the websites that you linked to showed that quote. However, they seem to miss the point. Gore said he took the initiative in creating the internet. That’s what the quote says. Can you read English?

A Democratic liar! Right on this website.

Big surprise. They are everywhere, lying about everything.

I can read English. In no way is this a lie. I can only presume you are being deliberately obtuse.

There is a big difference between someone saying he created the Internet — your assertion — and someone saying he participated in the creation of the Internet, which anyone with a passing familiarity with the spoken word will understand that he meant.

Your idiotic partisanship contributes nothing to the public debate except to make noise.

Oh, and I can link to sites that claim that Republican lie too:

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Nine.

But to what end?

I had more, by the way, but MnSpeak had an itchy Spamfilter finger tonight.

Oops, one last comment, and then off to bed.

It’s interesting to me how conservatives can be so maddeningly literal on Al Gore’s quote, and yet, on the subject of torturing prisoners of war, all of a sudden there’s this vast gray area, open to all sorts of opinions, where one man’s waterboarding is another man’s college hazing ritual.

Suddenly good and evil become situational, the very thing that conservatives love to claim is the proble with liberal philosophy. Where are your priorities, where is your sense of scale of evil, and where is your sense of shame, when fibbing ranks as worse than international war crimes on the continuum of evil, you hypocrite? How can you see the images of Abu Garib and not recoil in disgust at what this country has become? And how can you claim to be a conservative and make no attempt to try to conserve the human rights that are guaranteed in our constitution, and make no effort to conserve the fundamental standard of morality that this country was supposed to be founded on?

Honestly, pot, how dare you point fingers at the kettle?

Both are lies, no matter how you try to write it off. I mean, if you get down to it, maybe we all are participating in the creation of the Internet by posting on it. But that’s not the case.

Your idiotic partisanship contributes nothing to the public debate except to make noise.
Ditto to you too, pal. It’s not like you aren’t being an apologist or saying anything that hasn’t been said before. In fact, you’ve made several posts in a row when you could’ve made one. I think you are the one squawking the loudest in this room.

PS: Didn’t you ever learn in school that Google is not a legitimate source? Neither are Wikipedia or blogs.

Google isn’t even a source, it’s a tool for finding sources. I tend toward trying to find the original sources, or sources that refer to original sources. I always try to root my arguments in fact. If I don’t always succeed, well, at least I’m making the attempt, which is more than you can claim. Your links all go to partisan noise machines.

And I don’t pop into threads to piss on conservatives. Most of my posts are about art or culture. The only reason I respond to posts such as your is that their only function is to spread divisive nonsense. I respect certain conservative viewpoints, but I am sick to death of conservatives taking every chance they get to make shrill accusations and go into full-on attack mode.

I mean, seriously, chronwatch? Why don’t you just link to a site called The Republican Talking Points and Disinformation Journal?

I respect certain conservative viewpoints, but I am sick to death of conservatives taking every chance they get to make shrill accusations and go into full-on attack mode.

This whole thread was a liberal thread pissing on Conservatives. If you care that much about shrill accusations and people going into full-on attack mode, maybe you better step back and take a look at what people belonging to your ideological beliefs are doing here. I mean, Raindog66 and Big g calling every conservative Nazis and hate-mongering, and then you admonish ME? Come on now. Oh, I suppose since they aren’t conservative, it’s okay if they make “shrill accusations and go into full-on attack mode.”

Basically, the way you have stated, everyone who is a conservative here is just a right-wing kook, but man, you, Raindog, Big G, and tmayhem are all MAVERICKS.

Give me a break.

Don’t link me to those two. I make fun of raindog as much as anybody. I’m fond of her, but her rhetoric makes me nutty. But if you find their behavior inappropriate, why re you aping it?

POL SCI 001 (Remedial)(Not Required, unfortunately)

A politicians job is to get elected.

Sometimes, in the course of trying to get elected, they don’t tell the whole truth.

This is all a conspiracy of the liberal left-wing media. They planted the leak so that Amy could do the right thing and look better than Mark.

Charming. The GOP thugs are blowing caskets all over the place, after finding out that their man for the U.S. Senate is swirling down the drain in the polls, and their man for Governor can’t seem to budge against the former state AG in the race as well. Go ahead you chickens. Drink the Jim Jones Kool-aid. It comes in different emotional flavors. Yet get totally drunk like a raving wacko until election day. In any case, I’ll be the one popping champain, setting off my 4th of july fireworks, and grab the popcorn when the woodland ducks finally come home to quack on November 7th.
