I haven’t seen any TOOL videos since the early 90’s Sober era videos…but those were truly groundbreaking. I really haven’t paid any attention to TOOL since that time, and I was pretty stunned when I heard that they sold out Target Center. The funny thing was that every time a hotel guest asked me what was going on @ Target Center and I told them “TOOL is playing”, to a man they asked the same question…”is that a band?” They are truly an underground success story.

The video Sober was directed by Fred Stuhr and Adam Jones with an very heavy nod to the Brother Quay. Fred Stuhr died in a car accident in ‘97. I blieve he was a student at CalArts or something when he made the video.
There is a DVD collection of the early video available.
Sadly I missed the latest show as I refuse to go to stadium shows (’cause I’m so cool ya know), but I did see them at 1st Ave and the Roxy in Chicago.
Yeah, Tool rocks like hell.
