But, again, the auditions haven’t started yet. There was a rush of people when pre-registration opened yesterday, and an off/on trickle ever since. It was open all night so, in theory, people could have walked up at 2 a.m. and registered.

And I would expect there’s going to be a significant amount of people (from outstate Minnesota and out-of-state) who don’t show up at all until Friday morning. You can register right up until the start of auditions at 8 a.m. Friday — there is no requirement saying you had to show up yesterday (or today).

In theory, the pre-registration is meant to make things easier on the actual day of auditions. But, of course, it also gets “AI” two more extra days of free publicity.

So there will be more than 6,000 people there to audition. Will there be 30,000? Probably not. Will it hit 10,000? I dunno, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

2) Go look @ Target Center. Other than the rent-a-cops & port-a-johns there is no more human traffic than a typical day…poor souls on the way to Harborlight and strippers on the way to the Seville.

Not owning one is they way to stick it to corporate brainwashing and avoiding a situation like 1984.

Not to say it’s going to hit 30,000, but it’s going to be more than 6,000. Like it or not, “American Idol” has a huge audience here. This summer’s tour drew the second-biggest crowd (after, I think, Birmingham) here at the Xcel Energy Center.
