MNSpeakers, the daily web series Chasing Windmills needs some new characters (NOW) for its upcoming season. We need bloggers (or blogger-wannabes) with character who are willing to expose their lives, change some names, and turn a bit of reality into fiction. We’re not looking for actors. We’re looking for real people (who can stay real in front of the camera) with interesting personalities and experiences from which to create reality-based fiction.
You must have a majority of your weekends open from September through March and be willing to devote one day to shooting each week. Unfortunately, there’s no money right now — only glory and the acclaim of an international audience commending your cutting-edge work. Any revenues will be split among participants. If you’re interested, tell us why — and convince us of your committment so we’ll know you won’t flake out on us. criscordova@gmail.com

Well, I’ll freaking do it. I love Chasing Windmills. Expect an email soon.
12:13 am
Do, please, Max. We’d love to have you involved.
12:18 am
I think you should get Marsh involved.
12:28 am
Funny you should say that. He volunteered last season. I’m planning on taking him up on it — even have a particular plotline in mind.. just for him.
12:37 am
Heh.
Whoah! I just watched your last video. I think you live in my old apartment building, where my father and brother still live.
Weird.
12:54 am
OMG.
Max & Marsh on Chasing Windmills?
I’m in fucked up heaven.
9:31 am
Sounds interesting, but alas, it appears that I’m not a real person. sigh.
9:39 am
Nor am I leigha. My real person persona and my on screen persona have met in the middle. Now I’m an odd amalgam of real and phony. It’s unnerving.
9:39 am
You’re as real as any of us, honey.
9:47 am
I’m pretty sure cristina wasn’t saying that actors aren’t real people, Leigha. I think she was saying that they’re looking for people to play themselves, not people who are looking to play a role.
10:04 am
Thanks, Max. Leigha, of course actors are welcome. Max is more-or-less correct. You can play a role if you like, but it should draw from your own reality. That we can discuss.

I like the concept of “reality-based fiction”. It reminds me of Ruth Reichl’s description of her autobiography as something like “accurate, but not necessarily factual”.
11:08 am
but …. would “fictitiously-based reality” be okay?
11:09 am
absolutely.. and facetiously-based reality as well.
11:18 am
I’m just giving you a hard time, Cristina… I’m not upset. Well, okay, I might cry myself to sleep tonight, but I’m sure I’ll get over it… someday.
11:23 am
Actually, Leigha… you’ve been recommended more than once. Are you sure you’re not interested?
11:30 am
I will add my recommendation to the throng of voices. Leigha’s the cat’s pajamas.
11:32 am
Yes, but who’s the cat?
11:32 am
The cat won’t work for less than scale.
11:35 am
…someday, maybe…
12:34 pm
I’m not sure I’m not interested (sneaky double-negative!). Me and my pajamaness will give you a holler via e-mail when I’m not at work.
12:46 pm
What’s anybody heard about Minnesota Monitor? It’s live but not on the MNSpeak blogroll and features some big names of local blogging. NOt sure what the deal is, but from what I’ve seen it’s a good addition to the progressive blogosphere.

WE NEED WOMEN!!! — or at least one.
2:18 pm
Man, do I hear THAT!
2:26 pm
Can’t you tap into those Catholic girls schools you frequent?
2:28 pm
Um, I’ve been warned that doing so ain’t legal.
2:30 pm
Well.. that depends.. are we talking Holy Trinity or St. Catherine?
2:40 pm
Or Frank Zappa?
2:41 pm
Our Lady of Perpetual Agony.
2:43 pm
Catholic Boys!
2:46 pm
Sister Esmeralda of the Five Sacred Toenails.
2:48 pm
Mother Mary the Hideously Incensed.
6:20 pm
I’m so tempted to say “yes” but then realize that at some point I would regretably wish I had said “no.”
6:21 pm
Like Paris Hilton or Bret Michaels.
Not that there’s anything wrong with “that.”
