I mentioned earlier that proceeds after costs were going to a charity, but I figured out that there won’t be any proceeds after costs, so never mind. I suppose we can all pick a charity and donate on our own.

Just a tip, but the best player in town is probably Neal Justin at the Strib. He knows everything about pop culture. It’s as if he gets paid to watch tv.

This contest will be rife with ringers.

Kieran Folliard himself is also pretty damn good.

There should be an award for the person who knows the least about this alleged culture. That person would indeed be admirable.

If I weren’t in rehearsal for a show that opens the very next night, I’d be there.

Wait – why am I sighing?! – Thursday is opening night of THE MINNESOTA FRINGE FESTIVAL! Frankly, it’s one of the two reasons I stayed in the Twin Cities after college graduation. And it’s been worth every year.

It starts on Thursday.

Hey, I actually know a decent amount about local history even though I’m new here. I make a it a point to learn about such things whenever I live somewhere, so … uh, pick me?

When I moved here I took a “History of the Twin Cities” course @ Metro State on a whim. Turned out to be quite informative, especially in understanding why there are 2 (well, 1 & 1/2, anyways) downtowns.

I think I will just go to the bar, sit in the corner, and watch.

Not counting on registered teams. I just wanted to have some idea of how many people we’re going to have.

The $10 isn’t for the first ave. tickets. It’s to pay the very funny Mr. Cosgrove. You’re right, you can go lots of other places for trivia. If $2 per person seems steep for trivia, think of it as a cover charge for the auxiliary entertainment coming from having all the mnspeakers in the same place.

Second that. Cosgrove provides actual entertainment, instead of just someone reading out of a Jeopardy trivia book they just picked up at Barnes and Noble. I’ve been to several pub quizzes in town. No comparison.

That seems fair although comp tickets are a rinky dink prize. Couldn’t we get a years subscription to Mpls/StP?

Any drink specials? I mean you are dragging 20-60 extra people to a bar that would not normally be there and drinks at Irish Bars tend to be extremely expensive.
