The new memoir by local children’s author Catherine Friend, Hit by a Farm, was reviewed in the NYTimes Book Review this week. Detailing the transformation from city girl to farm gal, the book was also previously reviewed in such places as the Pioneer Press and Madison’s Capital Times. The NYTBR review is penned by none other than girl-done-good Katherine Lanpher, who has her own memoir, Leap Days, coming out in October, which chronicles a different move — from Minneapolis to New York City. Why don’t you have a memoir out, huh?

Right…I’ll do a memior about my impending relocation from 26th and Hennepin to 26th and Harriet. It will be moving.

City girl to farm girl, must be fiction?

I think my life has been pretty good, but when you try to think if anything’s happened that’s memoir-worthy… I’m not sure.
Well, except for the drunk girl jumping up on me at the basilica block party while I was trying to interview people for a story on The Hopefuls dancer “Rupert.”
What would God think of that?
