I haven’t had Minnesota wines before but I’m intrigued despite the rapant snobbery. Naturally, I’m sure some are “good” and some are “bad.” The great thing about learning about wines, is that half the battle of reaching “enthusiast” is drinking trial and error style.

It’s not like every winery in Cali is “great” just because it’s in wine country. I was just in Napa a month ago and I had just as many orgasmic wines as I had “2 buck chucks.” To each his own.

I picked up a couple bottles at the Cannon River Winery when I was down in Cannon Falls to ride their bike trail. Tasted pretty good to me. Then again, anything alcoholic generally does.

To be honest, I don’t really quite understand the constant bitching on here about MN wines. Sure, some taste like the vineyard backed up a horse to the oak barrel, but others are pretty damn tasty — just like nearly every other winemaking region in the world.

Boss at Target hands out bottles of Minnesota Wine for Christmas:

After about a week he asks one of his employees, "How did you like the wine."

"It was just right," the employee says.

Boss at Target thinks about that statement for awhile. Not sure what it means, he asks the employee -- "what do you mean when you said the wine was just right?"

The employee says, "If it was any better you wouldn't have given it to me. If it was any worse, it would have killed me."
