Also in this week’s Pulse, Great Moments is Rock ‘n’ Roll History retells my encounter with Bo Diddley.

Wrong again, conservative media: The US Census Bureau’s data shows that Duluth was the larger city in ten-year census data for 2000, but their estimates already peg Rochester as the larger city, with positive population growth, while Duluth is smaller, and shrinking.
Duluth excepted, the larger outstate cities are growing at a pretty rapid pace, at the expense of nearly everything inbetween, if it can’t draw in tourists. Northstar desperately needs to be built, because west 94 is the fastest growing spur of development extending from the metro. I35, from either direction, isn’t far behind.

Typical of the leadership and thoughfulness we’ve come to expect from the governor who sprung Athena-like from the head of David Strom.

I thought a full 40 was art!
Ez-E fucked up and got the 8-Ball rolling!

Thirsty Thursday!
12:04 pm
If you send the State a check is it tax deductible?
12:56 pm
wait, is thirsty thirsday a real thing or did you just make it up?
1:03 pm
At least where I went to college Thirsty Thursdy was the big day to go out and drink because many people went home on the weekends to either escape the small town or to go home and help on the farm.
1:09 pm
ahh
but this is the city and it’s summer so college is out …?
did it just sort of become another excuse to get smashed for students/young people here?

Don’t forget Muddled Monday, Tipsy Tuesday, Wasted Wednesday, Fucked-up (fakakhtah, for those with Yiddish inclinations) Friday, Sloshy Saturday, and Soused Sunday.
Alliteration — a drunk’s best friend.
1:25 pm
I didn’t think you needed an excuse to get smashed.
It’s also Pride Weekend…Maybe they were all celebrating their queerness!

Thursday’s the new Friday!
2:06 pm
Thursday nights are always huge nights to go out. I’m surprised anyone could just be noticing this now…
It isn’t as big as fri or sat but probably the next busiest night to go out.
2:49 pm
seems to me that downtown is buzzing with activity 7 nights a week when the weather is good. particularly 1st Avenue between 7th street and Washington…like one big Frat Party.
2:54 pm
Marv drove our bus when I rented one for my bro’s bachelor party a couple years ago. He’s a character. Low frills compared to a limo or fancy limo bus, but it was a fun experience. For the record, strippers are allowed on the bus if he’s given a heads up. Prostitutes…not so much.
2:56 pm
I wouldn’t know, I have to be home when teh streetlights go on.
2:58 pm
Thursday is a huge night to go out. A lot of upperclassmen don’t have classes on Fridays so Thursday kind of is the new Friday in that sense.

I hope in next week’s Source Go! Do! they teach us all how to roll really fat joints.
