Actually, as you may already know, The VIP Room at First Avenue. I walked by it this morning and it didn’t seem especially burned up (although the deejay area apparently went bye bye), so perhaps it is just more evidence that Matt Jenings is one hot son-of-a-gun. Nobody knows what started the damn thing, so, MNspeakers, it’s time to play armchair detective. What do you think caused the fire?

I was there on Friday night. It was definitely the hot-t-t dance party.
Seriously though, thank god it happened when it did – I can’t imagine trying to get the hell out of that room if it was ablaze. It’s a relief it was caught in time and didn’t take the whole place down.

I went to a show at the Entry last night, and you could definitely smell smoke. It reminded me of when a unit at my last apartment went up in flames and took a few neighboring units with it (hint: if you’re in a studio apartment, don’t put your mattress too close to the stove). The smoky smell lasted for weeks, until they were able to run filtering units long enough and deep-clean all the carpets.

i think it started where they must have stored all the schmeggie they scraped off the ceiling last year. If that wouldn’t have spontaneously combusted, nothing would. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of Shane MacGowen’s facial hair lodged into the framework might be the culprit.

Has Lifter Puller taught us nothing? It was Juanita. Night Club Dwight should have known better than to stiff those guys.
