it's just that there are so many more flattering pictures of Jesus out there. How about Jesus blessing some children or something?

Jose -- in comments section -- is concerned:

"In Florida Reps AND Dems will shove Relegion down your throat. I suspect there will come a day when those who do not have Jesus plates are ticketed by Florida police for '"speeding"'.

"This way everyone gets the Jesus plate."

I lived in Florida for awhile. If God is looking for somewhere to carry out His mission on Earth, Florida isn't the place.

Hi everyone:

Actually, you can get your plates impounded with ONE DWI. I did. My BAL was above a .20 (based on a medical condition I have now learned increases my BAL x2)...and so I will now have the W plates for one year for one DWI. Personally, I am ok with it. I don't drink and drive regularly, and this was one huge mistake I will not be repeating. I guess my preference would be for me to be treated like any other "first time offender", but MN sees it differently, and that's ok too. I am responsible for my choice, so one year from now, I will earn regular plates back.

I have W plates and I can tell you they work! I have been in treatment and still have 6 months more to go with the W plates. The absolute last thing I would do if I was to take a drink again is to get behind the wheel of my truck with W plates. At first I was embarrassed but now I am grateful I can drive at all. I am considering keeping the W plates until I am further along in my sobriety as a very real deterrent from ever drinking and driving again.

I'm sorry if yor are offended or embarrassed by having to drive around with Whiskey plates. As I see it you are lucky that is all you have to live with. You get to be rid of the plates after a year. For the rest of my life I have to live with the injuries and pain you imposed on me by running into me while you were so intoxicated you didn't know you were driving the wrong way on the road.

I think if your get you 1st or 2nd DWI you should not "get" to drive "your" car, I see too many whiskey plates on Cadillacs, Lincolns, Suburbans. If You do have a valid reason to drive you should have to rent, maintain and insure a 15 year old DOT orange METRO or S10 with 4 inch tall blue letters on the tailgate that say's "I'm a convicted Drunk Driver, and I'm lucky to have not killed someone" and then after the lame sentce of 1 year they get to drive their car. If they get caught again in 10 years they NEVER get their licsense back!<br />
I guess I'm biased because my fiancee was killed by a Drunk Driver. Driving a $40,000 Excursion, all he got was a slap on the wrist, because he had $$$

You know..a person does not get a "whiskey" plate until their 2nd DWI. Maybe they should be a little embarrassed! They already got their slap on the wrist with the first one! I say make the plates pink and put a bottle of beer on them...and whenever that person is walking to their car considering drinking and driving again they will think twice!

Here's an idea...don't break the law and the law won't discriminate against you. Drinking and driving is illegal, irresponsible, and dangerous. Don't like the "whiskey" plates? Don't drive. That's the sole reason you got them in the first place...
