What’s a beast to do on a Thursday night?

Somehow I have misplaced a period or a semicolon that should be in the above post. Oh, here it is!

Thanks for the plug, hipmn!

Here’s a great write up of the movie in yesterday’s City Pages.

If you have never been to the Heights, than go! It is the Twin Cities oldest continuiously operated movie theater, and it’s a blast to see a movie there. As a kid in Indianapolis, ALAMN Bob used to see matinees at a very similar old theater, now sadly turned into a hardware store.

The Heights is only place in town where the venue is worth the price of a ticket.

Leigha, make sure that Dawn and Matt put a plug for your film in the Fringe emailings. If they won’t do it let me know and I’ll beat them about the head and shoulders. =)

ALAMN Bob- Have you been to the Riverview Theater? $2 matinee, $3 evenings. They also regularly show local films, shorts, cult films and host community events as well. Worth over the price of a ticket in my opinion.

Leigha I’m pretty sure this qualifies you for imdb now!

Want me to add you and use your lip service head shot?

Funny story.. I once called the LipService Talent Guild.. boy what an embarassing moment that turned out to be when Don Shelby showed up for the party…

No, s4xton, I haven’t. A little off the beaten path for me and Mrs. ALAMN Bob, but sounds like its well worth the trip.

I want to see an old favorite — M, with Peter Lorre, the long verson of the Seven Sams, Potemkin…even a good classic Ford or Hitchcock.

Too bad the Oak Street has changed its course, Bob. I saw “M” there last year, AND Seven Sam, AND several classic Hitchcock, as there was a lengthy retrospective (”Rope” was a special highlight for me). Oh, I long for the good old days when the Oak wasn’t just another second-run theatre…..

Thanks hipmn,

I’ll let Ray know about his honorable mention.

Thanks zenrhino – my Fringe friends had the Monster of Phantom Lake link up on the front page of fringefestival.org today, no beatings needed this time.

Not2Sure (are you Steve?) – I would, of course, totally LOVE to be listed on imdb…how freaking sweet would that be?! The lipservice headshot is the one to use these days…

And hipmn – were you there tonight sitting house left? I thought I saw you, but I didn’t have my glasses on, haven’t seen you in several years, and was too shy to ask.

As for The Heights Theater – holy crap is that place ever gorgeous. I love it now just as I have loved The Riverview.

I was there, but it seemed awfully busy, so I thought I’d just let you get swamped by your fans. I’m sure it was me you saw — I was about three rows back, in spectacles, reading a comic book.

Enjoyed the movie a great deal, by the way. It was like Pinter with all the meaningful pauses. Some of the line deliveries were priceless.

I was also there. Well done! There was a good crowd and a good venue! (I work with Josh Craig’s dad…) It was most enjoyable. Most … enjoyable…
