I just added a link from today's NY Times editorial page comparing the lives and legacies of Barry Bonds and Kirby Puckett. Good piece.

It's hard out here for a pimp.

(Speaking of which, Hustle & Flow is playing at the Oak St. in case anyone missed it.)

Remember when there were NEVER pollution warnings? And now we've got one already in March?!? What the hell?

I would be so willing to go back to annual emissions testing if it meant we'd only get half as many activity-restricted days per year. What use are the parks and lakes if you can't even breathe in them on an otherwise beautiful day?

It's so aggravating! Doesn't this frustrate anybody else?

I'll agree that it is about timing, but it's got nothing to do with Kirby.

I guess I'd been lulled into believing that the pouter was just going to put up with his situation, but he's also the kind of guy who can lull you into a false sense of security. Did he not look invincible in the preseason? He was completing 80% of his passes and seemed to hold the ball well. As soon as he was in for all four quarters in a game that counted, that was all over.

I'm sure Daunte doesn't read MNSpeak, but I'd like to address him, personally. The best thing for you to do, for the team and yourself, is REHAB. You basically had your entire knee put back together only half a year ago. Foolish pride is the reason why you're hurt -- you had the first down, you didn't need those extra yards, but you took more to prove a point, and look where you are now. Wanting to start the first game of this season is that same foolish pride, and there's a lot more reward if your first step out on the playing field is when you're at 100% and ready to kick ass, or more likely, as the hero, when Brad Johnson proves that he's not cut out for a 16 game schedule anymore.
