If criminals can get away with crime over and over and over, day in and day out. People get robbed, hurt, beaten, shot, and killed, then guess what, the police aren't protecting. Bottom line, they are failing. That's the police, city and state's problem to deal with and solve. <br /> <br /> Now, is that to say the only dysfunction in Minneapolis, or North minneapolis, or any poverty impacted and socailly neglected area is lack of police, or effective police. I live in the heart of N Minny and the good changes should be easy to see here, but actually it's getting worse and worse by the day! Every one I know is being robbed at gun point, beat up, shot at, house broken in to. Never mind the gang bangers killing each other. Just heard there was another teenager filled with bullets, laying dead out on West Broadway. So how is McManus so great???? If Rybak and the city council mess this one up, I will not forgive them. Mcmanus is one of the few really smart decisions they've made/actually been able to agree upon (sort of, anyway).
