I guess I was too busy with my daily life to go (even though I walked right past Suburban World). What a selfish bastard I am.

Axtually, s4xton, I thought Alex's site stood out technically and aesthetically - I was mostly joking about trying to pick a candidate based solely on their website/hosting/registration. :) I've since gone and actually read up on everyone's platforms... It's interesting how many of those sites were just cleverly skinned Wordpress installs - WP should start making default "I'm running for office" templates!

Anyhoo, good job on the site and well done for being involved. I should be doing the same thing...

Alex Eaton's website makes me want to go caucus for Scott Benson.

Really. Scott Benson is the BOMB! Everyone in 62 should go support him.

Alex Eaton's web site looks workable to me..

I'd go to caucuses but last time in my precinct it was like an hour of people arguing over parliamentary procedure before they even got started...

I'm still too young for that. Not by much.. but enough. I think most of the DFL platform this year is up for renewal. That might make it worth the time.
I just moved to the 6th CD, so I'm excited.
I'm planning to go. I'm not excited about it, but hopefully it will be an educational experience.

Nator-

I run Alex Eaton's website. Alex registered the domain name himself (as you saw), but I chose the hosting. I was originally going to use an *nix host running Apache but our database guy on the campaign wanted to set up a system where staff can access our database in a web-based format instead of having it stuck on a database at the campaign manager or candidate's house. He wanted to use ColdFusion. My goal then was to find a host where I could get both ColdFusion and PHP/MySQL to run the site I wanted to run while still having it be affordable. This is the deal we found. I can't say I've been very happy with our hosting but it works for now. If we didn't have ColdFusion requirements I would have found a different host using *nix/Apache... and supported a local company if we were able to find one that was affordable. So don't blame the candidate for that one, please. ;-)
