I’ve been noticing a lot of blog spam showing up on this site. This is more bizarre than more, but no more disreputable.

It is at least local… the woman posts a local phone number for her attorney on the page. Am I defending local spam over national spam? I’ve lost my mind.

Aside from the published rules, what does and doesn’t qualify as ‘blog spam’ and who gets to decide? Just wonderin’…

PS: This poor woman needs some help understanding the defamation tort.

It just stick in my craw for some reason. Probably because there was one jerk who spammed my blog, like, 5 times per day, every day, and, of course, his poorly made Web site had no contact infortmation at all.

Well you could hop in that little newsvan and rush over there to ask “Sandra Escala” all about it jderusha.

Get another of those powerful “intraweb” human interest stories on the air from which we all derive so much viewing pleasure.

There is no such thing as a web site with no contact information at all.

No luck violating his privacy… I’m not much for violating privacy. I usually invite people to violate their own privacy. Or violate themselves. Or something like that.

Kudos to the guy for keeping quiet– all the national tabloid shows have been trying to get him.

How much would they pay for his name would you think?

i agree with russ, while i feel bad for the girl – i can’t help but think her own stupidity is the real problem here. the guy didn’t have a job. note to self: don’t borrow people money if they have no means of paying it back. i doubt she will ever see her money and will likely have to deal with his pals harrassing her for a long time. not that she isn’t owed, but if i were her, i’d pack up my losses and move on.

Taylor, you could be CJ’s intern – she loves all things newscaster. I never understood the fascination, but I guess it’s all Minnesota’s got huh?

Jason, you’re not an anchor (yet). And Robyne’s hair looks good both short and a little longer, but her community service and involvement in the arts scene is even more foxy.

I always thought it would be funny to do a gossip column on the internet.com that mimiced CJ’s column but was all about CJ. Like the time I saw CJ having lunch with her friend at Tacos Morelos.

Yes, I had to pull my site because Steve filed a harassement restraining order against me demanding that the website be removed. I found a new attorney who deals with these matters and he is shocked that the judge who signed the order actually allowed it. That is a blatant violation of my first amendment right. I mean, how can a website be harassement? I am not forcing anyone to look at it, I am not divuldging any information that is private and not of public record and I am only speaking the truth.

The goal of my site was to share my story and hopefully collect the money that I am entitled to. You may not like my methods but I am perfectly within my rights to do what I did. I tried all other avenues, like court and collections with no results. My website finally brought him out of hiding and addressed the issue. I plan on fighting the restraining order and collecting my money.

My family came to this country from communist Cuba. They did not risk their lives so that some idiot who owes me money can take away my rights as an American.

No David, I don’t need someone to explain defamation tort. I know what it means and it states that the comments made must be false, which they are not. If Steve was so worried about his reputation, he should have thought of that before he chose to do all the things that I have factually stated in my site. Maybe you need to do your homework!!!

I agree. The number one defense for any defamation claim is truth. If you are speaking the truth, no matter how offensive or bothersome, it can never be ruled defamatory.

Who is the judge who shut the site down? I have some ideas about a new site that would test his/her knowledge of defamation.
