Despite the collective hopes and dreams of MNSpeak’s finest, everyone’s favorite northern suburb will not be exchanging its longstanding hick/ambiguously racist name any time soon. Coon Rapids, like roaches, Applebees and blow-hard right wing Strib columnists, is here to stay.

This kind of tone/trolling in the comments on MNspeak is one of the reasons I visit this site less. Having them in the articles makes me question why I even load the page anymore, regardless of how sarcastic you’re trying to be or not.

I cracked the “Poon Rapids” joke last night when some friends were talking about this. This one guy from Coon Rapids was like, “Ugh, I’ve never heard *that* before…” So much for originality!
