There is an interesting line in Rex’s link to Diablo’s review: She’s almost like a tourist reporting from a strange country, sharing clear-eyed observations about a place she’s not sure she belongs. That was my reaction to Diablo’s book! But a dilettante’s experiences with stripping just seem more interesting to me than fights over the thermostat….

Yeah, I’m thinking that if I wanted to wallow in marital strife, I’d rather experience my own than be a gawker at someone else’s misery. Ew.

How are we sure this isn’t part of that new fictitious memoir category?

Next week we’ll hear about how she made up or “remembered” a few details differently than everyone else.

Not to throughly derail the discussion, but now that Oprah has turned her back on James Frey, his name is officially mud.

Just tell the truth, memoirists. If it isn’t interesting enough, write a frickin’ novel.

Sarah,

In general, I like marriage and support it! The idea of family life is appealling to some men (e.g., me). Not all men, however, are keen on this calling. Women either. Sadly, they find out after the fact. More difficult when kids are involved.

I read the book.

They will end up divorced.

Love ya Sweetie! Keep up the good work!
