What’s up with all the poisonings among ages 15-19? Is that shorthand for alcohol poisoning?

I hate when the Strib uses flash to display a graph or a chart. If you’re going to show me an interactive map or something, fine, I’ll take the time to un-block the flash plug-in. But when it’s just a static image, can we just use an image file?

Any bloggers out there see the Zippy cartoon this past Sunday? It pretty much sums it up. Link: http://zippythepinhead.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=15-Jan-06&Category_Code=sun2006&Product_Count=3

i used zipcar for two years in boston. it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. there are a lot of hidden fees that you find suddenly billed to your CC. for example, i used a zipcar to drive my husband to a club in new hampshire where he was spinning for the night. it was the coldest night of the winter thus far (like -10 below). long story short, the battery died after we dropped it off for the night and zipcar charged me $100 to replace it. i kept asking them how it was my fault, but they couldn’t answer me. i fought with them for a long time on it, ended up paying it, and then canceled my membership. maybe things will be different in MN, but in MA, zipcar is a joke.

Has Hour Car really been successful in Uptown? I hardly ever see the car sitting anywhere except its partking spot at the YWCA. Are there others?

If “80,000 people come to the U each day, but there are only 20,000 parking spots”, I wonder how many people come to the Mall of America each day, and how many parking spots it has?

“I wonder how many people come to the Mall of America each day, and how many parking spots it has?”

According to the MOA website, roughly 580,000 visitors a day share 20,000 parking spaces. Of course, ithe megamall also has a metro bus and light rail station..

Any word yet on the pond hockey at Lake Calhoun this weekend? If Isles is closed and the ice is pulling away from the shore at Harriet, that doesn’t seem to bode well.

zipcar? sounds like yellow bike and we all know how that ended up.

Not everyone stays for 8 hours at the megamall, either, so it’s easier to share parking spots.

Bus service to the U is pretty good.

Anyone know if Hourcar was in the running? If not, why not? If so, why’d the U go with Zipcar?

I would like to know whether the U considered Hourcar before going with Zipcar. Was there an open bidding process or did they just go with Zipcar?

” wonder how many people come to the Mall of America each day, and how many parking spots it has”

I think the Mall should have to accept park and ride vehicles for the train in exchange for the lucrative end-of-the line connection.

And yet they don’t. Park and riders and met with a stern sign telling them there are plenty of spots for them at Fort Snelling, IIRC.
