Time To Do Something

A 22-year-old sex offender was working the halls in Stillwater, pretending to be a student. It reminds me of the story last week where St. Paul wanted to put GPS tracking on all these sickos, to keep track of them. It’s time for Pawlenty and Entenza and company at the capitol to stop talking about solutions — a practice that has more to do with having an issue to run on than getting a solution — and actually do something.

This is the worst post that has been on MNSpeak. The only redeeming thing about it is the comedy of filing it under “sex” and “education”.

Taylor, so far, you’re the only one who found this post, because it was never published to the front page. I haven’t decided what to do with posts like this — just deleting them doesn’t seem right. (And also, it’s hard for me to explain why exactly this post is so bad.)

So for now, I’m letting posts like this get into the system and get categorized, but they never appear on the homepage. But you can find them other ways (through search, archiving, categories, and profiles). Ultimately, maybe this category concept can take off and there can be several kinds of homepages.

btw, maybe it’s not a “good” post because usually posts around here are fairly neutral to start, or maybe pose a question — this one takes a clear and hard stance from the start.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this post was the obvious:

No useless politics. Political threads are okay, but only if it’s a new viewpoint on a new issue. Otherwise, go hang out on the other 100 political blogs in town.

Hey all,
Sorry if this came off too strong, or too stupid or whatever. THis is the only blog I know of, and it seemed like a topic worth discussing. I’ll try to get a better feel for the place before I post anything again. One exception, I just posted something.

BTW — I didn’t categorize this under sex or education.

I usually find these by perusing the recent comments.

BTW that guy used to be on the Local Gay Yahoo Chat board all the time, (before they shut them all down). He has serious mental problems (and not really so attractive). His sex offense was having sex with a 14 year old girl when he was 18. No details were provided in the stories I read if there was force but I would assume not otherwise it wouldn’t have been 4th degree.
