Walker Backlash Turns Around

And that vintage t-shirt is not over-priced. It’s perfectly reasonable to pay $80 for a Stryper original.

*wolf whistle*

Stryper was HOT! Like giant bumble-bees performing on stage. But hot, sexy giant bumble-bees with morals and values.

TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL BABY!!!!

. . . until they got busted for cocaine possession. But hey, you can catch them this summer in Sweden or . . . Willmar, Minnesota!!

I’d pay top dollar for a vintage Prairie Ho tee.

i have to agree. i was there last night and it was kind of difficult to keep my eyes on the art

those guys chodes!

Yeah, I went last night and it was pretty much the same as going to any random hipster bar on a Thursday night. It just seemed weirder because there weren’t any people playing pool or holding bottle of Grain Belt. I think the art becomes background scenery at a certain point.

yeah. well i did appreciate the different setting at least. and its not like i’m going to be there every thursday… and besides… its totally fun to talk to the dolphin.

Well, I’ve never been to the Walker, but if I do ever go it will be on free Thursdays. I’m sorry if I don’t conform. I’m just a guy.

Why didn’t anyone tell me? I’d have left happy hour early to head over to the Walker.

But — but — but — I thought the parking lot frightened and confused all the hipsters!

weird. i was there last night too.
hotties everywhere, and also giant creepy insects.

Here’s my question though: you can’t exactly hit on girls at The Walker though, right? I mean, it’s people that are all dated-up already, no? (I mean, not that I would hit on anyone. Cuz that would be very, very unlike me. Very.)

Not really true. A bunch of my girlfriends (many of whom are single) talk about getting fancied up and going to Thursday nights. (I say talk because I’ve never actually done it, but they have.)

Guess where I’ll be Thursday. :)

I don’t know where you’re going to be, Rex, but I’m going to the Walker! I’m going to wear my limited edition Prairie Ho t-shirt and the ladies won’t stand a chance.

I don’t think Chuck Close and Kiki Smith exhibitions are on view. You may want to recheck Walker’s site. Chuck closed a while back and Kiki is upcoming.

I presume that comment is intended for today’s calendar post on the right.

Chuck Close
is open until February, but you’re right that I jumped the gun on Kiki Smith, which opens Feb. 26.

R,

Chuck Close closed on October 16 at the walker. The exhibit is on tour in San Francisco until the end of Februrary.

A couple more of the shows there are closing soon too: Warhol and Huang Yong Ping.

Bah, okay, why the Walker calendar includes them, I don’t know.

Anyway, whatever, these comments are in the wrong thread.

You can keep your vintage tees and Ug boots, I WANT MY AFTERHOURS BACK!!

I guess I just miss the liqour. Sad, huh?

Uggs are so 2004.

Uggs are so awesome.

But — but — but — I thought the parking lot frightened and confused all the hipsters!

True hipsters ride their bikes.

Truer hipsters walk!

i won’t go to the Walker anymore since they cut down all the big trees along Hennepin, scarring Mother Earth and contributing to greenhouse gasses

just consider thursdays byob. one of my fondest memories from this past summer was getting blitzed at a nearby happy hour, brown-bagging a 40 oz. in the sculpture gardens and finally going into the walker smashed on a thursday. classy, i know. but fun!
