After three months of putting up with Donald Trump, Minneapolis native Rebecca Jarvis lost to Randal Pinkett in the final round of The Apprentice on Wednesday night. The show ended in controversy as Randal was named Trump’s apprentice and then asked if he would hire Rebecca, to which he replied on live tv: “There should only be one apprentice.” Youch. The PiPress has a profile of the 24-year-old Jarvis, who in high school interviewed Jesse Ventura as part of KARE 11’s show Whatever.

I thought both did an outstanding job. Mr. Trump should offer Rebecca a job with his organization. She is youg and very grounded. Good employees are hard to find. Hopefully Mr. Trump will realize he should offer Rebecca a position in his company. Very disappointed that he didn’t hire both of them. I didn’t feel this was with the other shows. Rebecca would be an asset to his organization.
12:18 am
The only high point of the few shows I watched was when Rebecca in true passive-aggressive Minnesota style ganked the opposing team’s megaphones from Radio Shack a few weeks ago during that Twain perfume challenge or whatever.
I laughed.
12:22 am
The thing is, several people on the show are “good enough” to work for Trump. And these two are probably better than that.
But I think there’s going to be a big backlash about Randall’s decision — it was pretty harsh.
8:43 am
I’m going to try and date Rebecca.
10:29 am
But I think there’s going to be a big backlash about Randall’s decision — it was pretty harsh.
Unfortunately it’s somewhat true. I watched the show with my wife this season and IIRC, Rebecca didn’t win a task as PM until she was partnered with Randall.
While I believe Rebecca to be a much more outgoing and personable individual, you cannot ignore the education and background that Randall holds.
I don’t know who I would have chosen but I can’t say that Randall’s comment was “wrong”.
10:38 am
Throughout last night’s epidsode I got the impression that Trump was going to offer them both the job. All those vignettes of Randall and Rebecca “I respect you” “No, I respect you” “You’re great” “No you’re great” yada yada yada.
I think Trump was just as surprised as we were when Randall went Gollum on the prize.
10:38 am
Trump marginalized Randall’s win. I could not believe he put Randall on the spot like that in front of national tv. Trump lacks class and grace. If Trump wanted to hire 2 candidates (which I thought he would half way through the show)…he should have without Randall’s input….executive decision!!
Mr. Trump has never extended two opportunities in seasons past.
Having said that…I do believe he will still hire Rebecca once the dust has settled.
Rebecca is a very sharp young lady with tons and tons of potential….but she lost.
Let Randall enjoy his victory. He will either rise or fall hard within the Trump organization.
Time will tell.
11:31 am
I watched the show with my husband this year and felt that as it approached close to the end that Trump was going to offer a position to both candidates. I believe that Randall will learn alot from Trump, and Trump will gain alot from Randall academia. Rebecca on the other hand lacks experience and is still young. I believe if Trump may offer her a position later and that will help Rebecca’s talent to mature. I give her a few years to become as good as Randall is now. I wish them both the best and look forward to the next season.
Way to go Randall, you make us proud….brother
12:53 pm
Why are people so upset about this? What Randall said was exactly right. You cannot bring in two “big shots” at the same time and expect things to work smoothly. He won she lost. That’s life.
Besides, do we really need to feel sorry for poor Rebecca? She is still an absolute prodigy and at 24, she’ll land plenty of great jobs. Which is why I can’t get into this show too much because it’s just a bunch of successful people fighting over who gets to be more successful. Wow. I’ve got drying paint to attend to…
1:11 pm
Whatever. Both of them are awesome and neither of them are “big shots.” The job pays $250,000 — not, frankly, all that much in New York City. Randal wouldn’t even have noticed Rebecca had Trump hired her.
It wasn’t Randal, not Trump, who lacked grace in that situation — and I don’t think that qualifies as “putting him on the spot” (certainly not more than the rest of the show!). How hard is it to say “Yes, she would be an asset to any organization.” A smart leader knows to snap up great people whenever they are available.
(And what was with his snarky “It’s called The Apprentice, not The Apprenti?” Lame.)
Randal should have said: “Mr. Trump, I would like to hire Rebecca. We’ve worked together successfully many times, and she would be a terrific addition to my team.” Put it right back in Trump’s face; throw him a curveball (and get himself a employee he knows and trusts right from the start). (Plus, that would let Mr. Ego still hold the “sole apprentice” title he is apparently so concerned with.)
1:17 pm
Whoops – it WAS Randal, not Trump, who lacked grace…
2:14 pm
This is like saying, well George, you barely beat John so how about you bring him aboard as your number two guy?
Right.
4:36 pm
I’ll take the $250,000 job in NYC. I wonder if I would have to get a part time job to make ends meet?
7:37 pm
Rebecca is more, more man than a lot of people I know. I’ve heard she has a $150K job offer already and my mom says she has another in the millions from Yahoo! I hope the latter’s true too – she is inspiring and her form of courage is… contageous. And I have disabilities.
BTW, I was – seriously – a Randall fan too. Right up until he didn’t say to back up his pithy remark about this being The Apprentice, not The Apprenti: “Oh and BTW, Rebecca I’m sorry you lost and I may be The Apprentice but my former consulting firm could use you instead. Here’s their card, Rebecca. May the force be with you and… thanks for everything amigo.”
Oh and Rebecca if you’re reading this… may the force be with you
. Keep up the good work, please. You’re a great citizen of my country.
11:10 pm
When have you ever saw the winning team SHARE winnings with the 2nd place team. Who would watch any competitive shows or activities if both the first and second place person were winners I wouldnt. I feel what Randall said was appropriate, Trump did not choose her and thats that. Lets allow Randall to enjoy his win and his opportunity with the Trump orginization.
Way to go Randall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11:29 pm
That was just poor sportsmanship on Randal’s part with this closing remarks.
That shows no class from Randal… Maybe he’s afraid that if Trump saw him and Rebecca’s work, she might do a better job than him.

Being an MIT graduate, I was rooting for Randall Pinkett from the beginning. I did gain respect for Rebecca Jarvis as each week passed. Before the finale, I thought both finalists were worthy of the title Apprentice. I was so looking forward to last night’s finale, but the pompous way Randall handled the ending ruined the whole show for me. I think if the situation were switched and Rebecca was awarded the Apprentice title, she would have been gracious enough to allow Trump to have Randall as his second Apprentice. And what’s with the statement that there can be only one Apprentice? Last time I checked, Trump had three Apprentices. Randall’s comments last night were a negative departure from the teamwork character he portrayed all season long. Also, what’s with sourpuss Alla in the background, shaking her head vigorously when Trump suggested hiring Rebecca. One tabloid suggests that Alla was a stripper. I wonder if there is any truth to that.
3:30 am
With respect to several of the previous postings… I believed that Randall did, in fact, mimimalize his winning and showed perhaps a downside of his true personality, by refusing an opportunity for Rebecca with the Trump organization. His remark was more than callous.
It is apparent that Randall’s BCT Group is comprised of only minorities and there would be no opportunity for a WASP. A bit of research into Randall’s resume discloses that his thrust in the business world is strictly to foster opportunities for the minority segment that he represents… I believe that his focus on the Casinos in Atlantic City will be but to strengthen alliances with local minority suppliers and vendors. (I trust that the outcome may be a series of potential conflicts of interest for the Trump Group).
Further, Alla spoke of a series of spas that she was affiliated with, but… she is a former stripper, the spas were “massage parlors in Vegas” and she had been implicated in a murder scheme with “a former male acquaintance” who had mysteriously misinterpreted their real relationship.
I believe that Randall is exceptionally well educated and a persuasive leader but his experience in business is “from afar”, the perspective of a consultant and may perform at a more esoteric level than what will be expected of him in the Trump organization.
During the show, it was apparent that Rebecca immersed herself more fully in the weekly projects than did Randall and therefore may ultimately have provided more of a continuing challenge to Randall if both were afforded the chance to “apprentice” comparatively with the Donald>
11:45 am
Trump did put Randall on the spot, but Randall missed a golden opportunity to impress the boss by acknowledging Rebecca as an asset to his new organization.
I’m not worried for Rebecca though. I think Randall’s decision will ultimately benefit her. She’s bound to get all kinds of offers from across the country. I’d like to see her as a televsion journalist — she handled herself so well in front of the camera.
12:46 pm
What show were some of the viewers watching. Rebecca only won one task and that was with the assistance of Randall. Randell, was clearly the only choice. Also, I thought the task was to raise money for the charities inwhich Rebecca failed. Why was her broken ankle hightlighted so much? Why wasn’t the fact that Randell lost his grandmother given the same amount of attention. Why did Carolyn, harp on the weather and not mention the fact that Rebecca did not secure the first comedian through his union and had to find another MC, did she have a plan B? Why should Randell share this victory with another person when on you in the past has. Finally, if Mr Trump wanted to hire Rebecca, he could have regardless of what Randell said. After all, it is his show. I am so very proud of you Randell, way to go.
1:33 pm
Securing an $11K donation was a mere pittance in comparison to the assets deployed by Randall. Did not Rebecca secure $100K in contributions to the charities from the Yahoo organization? Her efforts far out trumped Randall’s in the final contest.
The Donald failed to use a reasonable barometer of financial success in many of the weekly tests!
4:07 pm
Way to Go Rebecca, you actaully really won in the face of the Nation!
YOu came out with the real prize. Respect and Admiration. As the adgae goes and time will tell, Randall’s Apprenti comment quickly demoted him in the eyes of many watchers..so time has told! Probably gets worse re Randall as time goes on…
5:54 pm
Congratulations Randall. Rebecca was a failure in a final task.
6:06 pm
I have been watching “The Apprentice” since the first season. I know the rules of the game and what qualities Trump are looking for in the winner. Number one is, how that person performed on that particular task. Mr. Trump made sure the last task was geared towards Rebecca’s profession “fund raising for children”. This gave Rebecca a lead on Randall. Prior to being a contestant on The Apprentice, Rebecca founded a Non-Profit Organization to benefit (disenfranchised) children and raised $75,000 for them here in MN. Her task involved raising money for The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. There is no way Mr. Trump could’ve fired Randall and hired Rebecca when Rebecca did not raise one dollar during her task and Randall raised $11,000 for his. Not to mention her track record of 1 prior win and 3 prior losses, when Randall had no losses at all. Mr. Trump was hoping Rebecca would win and when she didn’t he wanted to hire her anyway but knew there would be a great outcry of racism against him and the show. So, knowing randall is a man with a good heart and a people person, he asked Randall if he should hire Rebecca? but Randall reminded him to stick to the origional business deal. i agree with Randall because if Randall had of said “yes”, the spotlight would’ve shifted off Randall and onto Rebecca, when she didn’t deserve to win at all. She didn’t have half of the qualifications Randall had and i’m not talking about education and previous work experience, i’m talking about the Apprentice job interview. If Trump had of hired Rebecca we would of seen a Ruben/Clay rerun, even though Clay didn’t win his people still put him in the spotlight.
8:14 pm
I think this whole thing results from Minnesota’s inability to believe anyone is better than them.
9:27 pm
Randal clearly was selected as The Apprentice based on his academic credentials. In his final tasking, his team worked hard, but without much clear guidance from him. He wandered aimlessly around looking wideeyed and seemingly lacked any grasp of what the sponsor wanted to achieve. In the final segment, the sponsor even statement that Randal seemed not to have a clue of what was needed. Randal’s team won solely because they collected more money, recognizing that Rebecca was attempting to satisfy her sponsor’s request that donations not be solicited, but rather accepted after the fact. Randal failed to even have a backup plan of executing his ballgame/auction in the event of inclement weather, so his advanced education must have failed him somehow, as did his on-hands business experience. Finally, when Randal was questioned by Trump on the adviseability of hiring Rebecca as a second Apprentice, Randal behaved totally without class in a self-serving manner. Randal may have won this little contest, but my bet is on Rebecca for long-term success!
9:40 pm
Rebecca is the real winner! Throughout the entire show, she displayed focus, integrity, determination, initiative, and superb organizational skills. Randal appeared to be a nice guy throughout the show, working to gain the friendship and support of the other candidates, but never really displaying a particularly high level of leadership skill or thinking. My opinion was that Randal should have been an absolute stand-out, based on his education, but that simply didn’t happen. My disappointment with him peaked when he selfishly recommended that his competitor not be hired, even though she would have been a tremendous asset to the Trump organization. Now why do you suppose Randal would recommend that Trump not hire someone who has demonstrated that she would truly be a viable asset to the organization? One must presume that Randal couldn’t stand the competition and didn’t care about hiring good people for the organization. Randal screwed himself in the foot when he did that, validating that Rebecca was the one who should have been the Apprentice. A bright leader knows to snap up people for the organization; that is how Trump has built his organization. So much for Randal, his flame won’t burn long. So much for this television show! Donald and Carolyn and George obviously had their criteria for determining the final selection, but somewhere on their list, they should have added the need for the candidate to have a little class.
11:32 pm
I doubt that Trump intended to set Rebecca up at Randall’s #2. She probably would have been given the Vegas job. Randall would have lost nothing by saying she would be an asset to the Trump organization.
Having said that, I bet she does a LOT better, financially, than $250K working for Trump.
11:54 pm
Doh! I meant Atlantic City, not Vegas.
1:07 am
Rebecca was inspiring to watch on the Apprentice. She worked well with her team, and obviously was more in tune with her final task than Randal. I imagine had she not been hampered with crutches she would have done even more herself, but she is a great leader and got it all exquisitely done anyway. Randal chose to play the big shot up in the skybox for most of the time while his underling worked alone putting out the chairs on the field.
Often true character only comes out for a split second, when one’s guard is down, and Randals ugly inner greed and self-centeredness exploded for us all to see. Had Rebecca won, I bet she would have, as her first executive decision for the Trump Organization, offered Randal the job. She would have done this both from true loyalty to her past partner, and from her willingness to take the best interests of the company into account over and above personal status.
It would be a joy now to have Donald come out and say, Yes Randal, you will remain the sole Apprentice, because you still obviously have a lot to learn, despite your 5 school degrees. Since your first managerial decision under my employ demonstrates your shortsightedness and fair-weather loyalty when you refused to consider my suggestion to hire Rebecca in terms of overall Company benefit, and not simply in terms of your limelight-hogging egotism, an Apprentice is all you can be for me at this time. Rebecca however will work for me in Chicago with Bill Rancic as a regular employee, not as a second Apprentice, because she already has incredible loyalty and I know I can trust her character. Had she been given the same chance to hire you at the end, she most probably would have done it both out of real loyalty to you and certainly from her understanding of overall company benefit by having a highly-qualified candidate like you retained by The Trump Organization.”
I guess Rebecca has a sad lesson now in how people you trust can sometimes turn on you, and how you never really know someone until they dont have to be nice to you. Thats a lesson that comes mostly with age and experience.
1:53 am
Those squares were typed as ” or ‘ marks. I don’t know why it is distorted above…
5:05 am
I am happy the brother won. I just hate to see how racist our society can really be. I would also like to include the media as well. They have focused on the fact he made an executive decision when asked the question if he would hire the other contestant. He did what he was supposed to do. On msnbc, they said that he snatched the victory away and not that he earned it. All media had something negative to say about how he won. I am tired of these “pink toes” sneaking in there racist remarks. That man won fair and square. There were worst things said on that show. Now give that man his credit. Pink Toes!!!!!!!!!
2:37 pm
Roy, please get over this racism thing. I was completely impressed with Randal, and never once cared that he was black and Rebecca was white. He did win fair and square, that is not debated. His record on tasks was better than hers too. What the issue is about is that he did not think of the company when he made his first company decision. He thought just of Randal, forgetting that a minute prior he was officially on Trump’s payroll, and therefore had to subordinate his own pride and ego to be a team player. His ending quote, when asked how he felt upon winning, was, “I’m done.” This shows that he only cared about winning, not about being a good company manager for Trump. I think that his fair-weather loyalty character flaw must have Trump concerned now whether he can trust Randal’s judgment to be more than self-serving in the future.
I admit I am a guy and Rebecca is incredibly attractive, but even women on this board and others are of similar opinions about how she was betrayed by Randal. Try please to look at this more objectively and not assume white people are knocking a black man; at least I am not.
3:39 pm
I cannot find what happened to Kendra? From last season. Where is Kelly? Did Trump keep either one of them? Did they quit or get fired?
4:12 pm
i know the show is edited and the ending may or may not have been a set up.however we-the audience- can only go by what we see. i first became aware that randall might be a little selfish when they left the suite to go to the elevator.hey randal-would it have killed you to at least offer to pull rebecca’s suitcase so she would not have had to hop?then came the disaster at the end.the true shame of the whole thing was that rebecca was shot down twice in front of millions of viewers.good move randal.however rebecca did not lose her smile or composure.this is one tough person.how many of us could go through something like that as well as she did?rebecca-to paraphrase an expression from boxing-you are the “peoples’ apprentice”.you lost nothing and gained a lot of respect and hopefully alot of great job offers.mr. trump-you told rebecca that she should not have let yahoo dictate terms to her and then you let randal dictate terms to you.do the right thing-hire rebecca.
5:09 pm
I dont think Randall was selfish at all, I can remember back to season one in my opinion there could have been reason for Trump to hire both Bill and Kwame, but he chose only one. Yes Rebecca was worthy of being the Apprentice, however based on the rules of fair play there could only be one Apprentice. Trump was being greedy and Randal was being smart and looking out for self. Dont change the rules at the end of the game. Again, congratulations Randall
7:29 pm
The premise of the show is that ONE candidate gets fired each show. Trump, himself, broke the rules by first firing four at once, then two another time. Obviously, he can do whatever he likes. So would it have been so bad to break the rules again, and hire two very worthy candidates? It’s his company, and I expect the show is just a fun way for Trump to find worthy candidates. If two people would both be good for the company, he should hire both of them.
As a side note, I wonder how the TV station cared for Trump firing multiple people at once. If he hadn’t, the show would have gone on another four weeks.
9:00 pm
This simply showed Donald Trump for the “racist” that he is. In order to even be considered Randall had to be more educated than Donald Trump with five degrees and not just any degrees but Oxford and MIT.
You could tell that Donald still did NOT want to hire him. He simply had no choice. So what does he do? He chooses Randall then takes it away with a back handed slap. He tainted Randall apprenticeship by asking Randall to be “decision maker” regarding Rebecca.
Randall stands alone as the only apprentice asked to share the position that he wone with the runner up. If I were Randall I would sue for racial dicrimination. Randall was asked to share the job for no other reason than Rebecca is a white woman. It was a slap in the face to Randall that Trump even asked.
10:10 am
34 years old, two impressive degrees, – and the guy is an “apprentice” ? Isn’t this like Peyton Manning trying out for a junior high football teram and “beating out” a 13 year old ?
I wonder if he still lives with his mother – not that there’s anything wrong with that.
10:57 am
Racial discrimination??? Give me a break. Trump went on and on all season about what a winner Randal was. If there was racial discrimination, he would have been fired along with Clay when they screwed up the XM radio task.
Besides, Trump handpicked all the candidates this season.
Randal wasn’t asked to share the job — they wanted two completely different jobs. Here was a simple case of two people being great and Trump wanted them both.
The only loser I see in this situation is Trump, letting his apprentice make decisions for him.
10:59 am
1. I think Yahoo should have donated the entire $100,000 to Elizabeth Glazer Foundation – not split it. That way, Rebecca would have certainly earned more for her charirty.
2. I think Elizabeth Glazer Foundation should announce how much they collected from the envelopes they were enclosed in the “goody bags.” Surely SOMEONE must have contributed something from all those people who attended.
1:17 pm
Wow I feel so sorry for Mr. Trump. I would ahve hated to have interviewed such a person like Randell that looks really good on paper and will BS his way into a job only to later have that person show his really self and know that that isn’t the type of person that you want in your company. Randell sure did forget who helped him get to where he was. I believe that Rebecca helped him in those task that he won so in a way they both won. To me Rebecca would of been a much better choice she wasn’t emotional and was very level headed. She is the type of person that one would want working for them. Randell you suck and Rebecca in my eyes you won.
2:40 pm
Why is everyone up in arms about Randall winning–I think if Donald wanted to hire both of them he should of, why not let the man enjoy his spotlight. I think people are upset that the black uneducated stereotype is being broken down by people like Randall. Rebecca is white she’ll be alright!!!
7:42 pm
I remember in one task when they were in the board room. Rebecca said she was disappointed in Randel. He was taken aback by that comment and I think he remembered it when Trump asked the question about hiring Rebecca.
8:07 pm
I think Randall was as qualified for the position of “Apprentice” as any comtestant ever appearing on the show. If Donald Trump wished to hire Rebecca, as well, he should have simply hired them both simultaneously, just as he had fired four others earlier (and made them share a taxi, just CRUEL! yet FUNNY!!!). I think Trump put Randall in a bad position by asking him. If Randall had said “Yes,” people would have had some questioning thoughts about it, and when he answered, “No,” people call him selfish. In his place, I would had wanted Trump to declare me the true winner before any others were hired. Anyway, The Donald can always hire her as soon as the cameras stop rolling!
8:21 pm
I was so pleased with Randall because he was true to himself. I don’t understand why white people cannot accept that Aunt Jemima is a character displayed on a box of pancake mix. Why is it that black people always have to play “Mammy”? We have to be nice at all costs. We should cater to the white people and listen to their problems and tell them jokes and make them laugh and feel sorry for them even when they just don’t add up. We should show compassion. Poor Marshall Mathers (Eminem) couldn’t even locate a white art form to express his feelings of isolation and alienation he had to use a black cultural form of expression known as rap music. He had to run to the blacks…they understand. How many films have we seen with the black friend who always knows just what to say to the lost white character. Oprah has made her living from playing Mammy which is probably why so many white people just love her. Scarlett’s Mammy reincarnated. When Mr. Trump asked Randall to play Mammy, he refused. This scenario is very common in corporate America. When black people refuse to “play nice” we are referred to as having an “attitude” or being “mean” “difficult”. If Randall were a black female, he would have been referred to as the “b” word or a black *****. Instead the common term used to describe him is “selfish”. I am a mixed race person. My Mom is white. One day she asked me how she could know if she was being racist. My answer was, does race influence your thoughts, decisions? She answered, “Sometimes”. If you are upset that Randall did not recommend that Trump hire Rebecca you should ask yourself if race is a factor in why you feel the way you do. Are you disappointed because you too believe that black people should be “nice” or maybe at the heart of your concern is that black people should not advance at the expense of whites? Due to the fact that one of my parents is white I understand that on the surface many whites do not identify their thoughts or even actions as racist, but if you are willing to accept the fact that race has more to do with this than you might have initially thought, you are on the right path.
8:53 pm
I could see the exact same stuation happening if Randall was white. The color of his skin had no impact on what transpired. A white guy, saying “no”, would have caused the same public reaction.
I bet Trump was surprised, though. I bet he threw this out to Randall, fully expecting a “yes”, because Trump wanted to hire Rebecca, too.
But you know, the “Apprentice” gets $250,000 for the year. If Trump had also hired Rebecca, but not as an “apprentice” (since Randall won the game), he could have paid Rebecca anything he wanted.
1:06 am
Randall is a great choice for the job and truly deserved to be the apprentice. His choosing not to recommend Rebecca to be hired brings attention to his insecurities. A true leader wants his company or organization to be successful. Hiring good people benefits the entire organization. Randall may have a tremendous education, but he lacks in other areas. I hope this proved to be a good learning opportunity for him. Rebecca is an amazing busness woman.. I am sure she will do fine. As far a the Apprentice having only one winner… Donald Trump doesn’t play with strict rules. In business it is good to have guidelines, but sometimes you have to think outside of the box and do the right thing. Only 1 person was supposed to be fired each week and yet Trump fired 4 people on 1 show. Although this show is entertainment, ultimately it is a job interview. It is rare to find a good candidate, but when you find 2 it is hard to let that opportunity to slip away. The only thing Donald Trump was guilty of in the last show was not making the decision to hire both at the same time.
11:02 am
Just so you know, I haven’t watched this show since Kwame lost but I heard that another black man was in the finals, so I was interested in knowing the outcome.
The winner of a contest should not be asked to pass judgement on the loser. It’s just not politic.
Yet again, I was disappointed in the show and I still do not plan to watch it.
9:49 pm
Just a thought. I believe that from the beginning of the show Mr. Trump knew he wanted Randal. It was time to hire a minority and he made sure he picked the cream of the crop which would have worked fine except for one minor glitch, Rebecca turned out to be a worthy oponent and actually gave Randal a run for his money. At the end, Trump was obligated to stick to the original plan. Had he hired Rebecca rumors of racism would have been unavoidable, especially after he passed on Kwamee who I really thought was a better choice than Bill. Anyone who reviews all the past episodes will see that in many tasks Randal’s performance was less than stellar. Including the times he was the PM. In at least two of the tasks he won, the other team screwed up badly and he won by the skin of his nose. One of Rebacca’s loses was in part due to Randal’s mistake (XM) and during the very last task, Randal admitted to missing quite a few cues whereas Rebecca rose to every challange unfaced with not ONE criticism from her teammates. Whatever. Rebecca will emerge from this as a winner in more ways than one. The Apprentice position is temporary, what Rebecca has earned by her grace and poise will outshine Randal’s temporary victory. I do wish Randal the best.
10:13 pm
Dan, there is no way in H-E- double hockey sticks that a White man, “just saying no” like Randall did would have elicited that type of response from the media. This is one of the kindler, gentler boards… all I see are the recurring “lack of class” comments (which could be pretty loaded in and of itself, but we won’t go there). Other forums have been very mean spirited towards Randall and for what? Because he refused to do “The Donald’s” dirty work?? This is 2005. It’s very unfortunate that a lot of us are so limited by our rose colored glasses.
9:17 am
Mr. Trump could have said “You’re hired and you’re hired” to both Randall and Rebecca. He did not, because Randall was the clear winner—throughout the show. Rebecca is young, beautiful and endearing—even more so when having to be on crutches—but Randall distinguished himself in every way. Mr. Trump should not have put him on the spot in his shining moment. And Randall was clear about his support for Rebecca and that his response was for that night only—as the Apprentice. Mr. Trump certainly could give Rebecca a job offer at any time. Randall truly is outstanding…..his poise and compassion on the microphone on the last task said so much.
2:53 pm
Randall said he wouldn’t hire Rebecca tonight. He won and wanted to enjoy his hard fought victory alone, as would any one else. It was not a team victory but a single victor. To say you would have shared the victory….you are liars and spineless kiss up!
2:56 pm
I think everyone commenting is focusing too much on the “business” talents of the candidates. Did anyone else notice Rebecca is a hot 23 yr old woman ? I think if she would have dressed a little more provactive, it would have been a much better show.
3:13 pm
Randal was the true winner and I agree with people that say if Trump wanted to hire both of them he should have. If you ask a Gold Medalist to share their medel with the Silver Medalist, they’re going to say “no”. Rebecca didn’t secure 100K from Yahoo! They just needed to save face because the “instructed” her not to raise money so she didn’t. And Randal didn’t betray her the show is about business not Dr. Phil!! Rebecca is a figther but she wasn’t the smartest woman there. Since people still fell sorry for her (broken ankle, Randal not given her a chance at a job) she’s actually coming out better! Randal was better and deserved to be the sole winner as the other 3 winners.

If I won the Gold Medal and the Silver Medalist was a hot chick, I definitely consider sharing the Gold…

A guy in the next cube over just told me that Rebecca may really cash in and pose for Playboy… I think this guy is a reliable source.

woo hoo!
4:03 pm
The bottom line –
Randall won–since when is there a friggin runner up?–
Let’s take a look at the videotape shall we?
Randall (education aside) 3-0 as project manager
Rebecca –only win as a result of partnership with Randall–showed little integrity when working with Randall on the Learning Annex project when she and Brian bad mouthed Randall’s ideas–then kissed butt when he brought them a win–
Randall — listened to his teammates and worked dilligently in spite of personal loss to achieve greatness which he did.
Rebecca– although very talented for a 23 years old has no “real” world business experience
Not only should Randall not have agreed to a co-apprentice he should have felt insulted by the notion that she was even in his league to begin with–
I think it hurt “The Hair” to have to hire Randall–and he crapped all over what was a landslide victory with cowardice (making Randall choose) in suggesting that Randall was only “slightly” above Rebecca in hireablity. To this I say–SHAME ON YOU!
Kwame had a better record than Rebecca — but Bill never had to make that choice–
This was very clearly racist. We will not patronize any “Hair” establishments–and this the last season we will watch this clearly biased show.

The bottom line –
Rebecca — hot
And I must say that it was clearly sexist that Trump did not incorporate some sort of swimsuit competition this season. The fact that Trump did not want to see a bunch of grown men in swimwear, clearly put the women at a serious disadvantage by not being able to display some of their best assets.

I’d love to see Rebecca in Playboy, but I would really doubt she’d do that. First, she’s too classy. Second, it could hinder her in business later. I’m sure business is her priority, not just quick cash.

there are some really stupid people on here who are responding with emotion and not thinking things through. If Randel was going to suggest someone be hired why would a be a person that he knew for 3 months instead of one of his real friends that he’s worked with for years….went to college with….started his company with.
Think about it….it would be a dumb move as a newly appointed exec with hiring power to choose a reporter with no experience running a company. That would be a clear display of bad decision making.

As a Rhodes scholar, Randall should be informed that there is no such word as “Apprenti”!
Additionally, it showed a lack of good breeding and graciousness for him to announce that Mr. Trump should not hire Rebecca. Surely there is enough in the Trump organization for the both of them! Apparently Randall felt threatened by Rebecca’s competence. Too bad. Rebecca would have recommended that Randall be hired, too, if she would have gotten the job.
I hope Mr. Trump hires her at some point. As Rebecca stated, you have to snatch up great people when you find them.

Randall just spoke what he and all previous winners were probably already thinking. It’s unfair to examine this without thinking about what previous winners would have done in the same situation. I don’t think that Bill or the other winners would have said that their competitor should be hired when asked on the spot, either.

Randall lacked of grace, Where’s the wrong thing in saying: -Yes, Mr Trump you should hire Rebbecca too…Those simple words would give him the extra points in leadership, but I guess that’s not the kind of leader Trump needs at the Casino Business, where people must do that all the time… Randall is stupid, selfish and inhuman at the point that he didn’t even gave a though to the fact that Rebbecca wasn’t even after the Atlantic City job! She wanted Jersey, How could that affect Mr.Selfish-complex-egomanic- narcissistic Randall? All the complex and egomaniacity ( LOL ) where shown in those last words he said, he though: ” oh come on, all these years studying, being the 6 foot tall black nerd to now be a winner with a white B***tch, I don’t think so…and them he finally said all loud: -No is “the Apprentice” Mr. Trump not the blah blah …. what a leader! yei!! Viva Atlantic City Yei! Viva Randall Yei! The Awsome Selfish-complex-egomanic- narcissistic leader of Atlantic City yei!)

I can’t believe people honestly had a convo this long and serious about The Apprentice. Yikes. Maybe MNspeak was NOT better when Rex was here.
