Resistance Is Futile

My favorite part is the “story” on Fox9News.com.

Yes, their website could use a little more content, eh? I’ll give them credit for this much: it is short and concise.

CBS beat them on this story by about two weeks; nice poaching, Channel 9.

One would think it would be up to the retailer whether or not he wants to gouge his customers the way the manufacturers suggest. But he is giving Big Pharma a black eye by calling attention to their venal ways. They probably will think of a way to squeeze him.

My guess is that the big markup in drugs happens well before the retail moment though, right?

Did the story do any comparisons between drug prices?

Not really. They interviewed an elderly couple who said they saved $800 a year by buying at Borg. I believe the store just offers the low prices on generic drugs, not the brand name pharma.

I’d think that Big Pharma would put the same measures in place that make it pretty much impossible for gas stations to sell below a specific price. Can you imagine a nonprofit gas station?

In Minnesota it is the State that sets minimum gas prices not petroleum companies.

That’s right Simpleton. The state requires a minimum gas price of 8 cents per-gallon above wholesale (or something like that). And in fact, the minimum gas law stays in place thanks to the support of SMALL gas stations that fear “big-box” stations from coming in and undercutting their prices.

I say hats off to Borg Drug for running a good business!

Are we on the topic of cheap places to get prescriptions filled? There is a place called FairCareRx that goes around insurance companies to sell bulk prescriptions really cheap.

Why don’t you go into the drug (or gas) business and get rich? Or, invest all your pension and 410K in drug (or gas) companies. Then use all the money to help poor people by drugs.

The cash is always greener ….

. I recently moved here from Ct. to get away from all the crime, seems the police department needs more rehabilitation(NA/AA). that”officer” should be convicted of armed robbery, just as ANY usual person would be.
