I have a recording studio in Minneapolis (see website, and the shot of Mpls skyline is out of our window) in which me and the 2 other partners (none of us are even close to professionals) built the whole thing including building a drum recording room on top of the other rooms to make use of extra square feet provided by our 25 ft ceilings. There is a video tour that is a year old on the studio page of the site (things have changed since then even). I don’t know if it’s what you’re looking for but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to mention it.
