The cover story in this month’s print edition of the Minneapolis Observer introduces the Intelligent Media Player (IMP), a product locally grown over in Loring Park. For musicians, the IMP allows up-loads of their own music — free teasers and then bargin priced full cuts. For listeners, the IMP provides access to a directory of independentally produced music and independent musicians. People who log on to the IMP website can also send in an email to get a beta-tester. Let’s hear it for Minneapolis’ creative class!

I’ve spent a lot of time recently in Seattle, New York and San Francisco, talking to people about their new internet products and ideas. It’s awesome to see some of this stuff sprout up here.
