It was surprising. My favorite piece, after the bug gladiator thing, is a silver sculpture of a big-balled bulldog peeing on the wall. The dog has a broken chain on its neck, and where it’s urine hits the wall it runs down to form a puddle on the floor shaped like the United States. A slap in the face by a foreign artist? Probably, but the fact that dog’s not peeing ON the US, but that the puddle outlines the States suggests something more about marking territory than about disrespect for our country.

The best show in a long time. Political, moving, not overdone, creepy, ambitious. I’ve seen it twice now and it’s great. Here’s a photo (I found out you’re not supposed to take photos – too late!)
