Pete Scholtes has yet another Hurricane update today on Complicated Fun. Pete has been posting some of the most moving photos and local commentary on this disaster since the get go. I still think people don’t have a grasp of the size of this. It’s really hard to get your brain around, but what Pete has been sharing really helps.

Wow, thanks, man.
I just posted an update on benefit concerts at CTG:
http://blogs.citypages.com/ctg/2005/09/katrina_benefit.asp
In a nutshell: ReBirth still on for Saturday, Mint Condition playing the Fine Line Sunday, and Bill Summers (just announced) playing the Dakota Sunday.
In the historical trivia department, ReBirth leader Phil Frazier’s younger brother is playing tonight in Houston with the New Birth Brass Band at the Rhythm Room. http://www.rhythmroomhouston.com
Somebody should send a CNN news crew there now…

Actually, I just talked to a guy at our probably-soon-to-be-sister-paper in Houston and New Birth is playing there every week at a club called Sammy’s, which is being called “Treme, Texas” after the flooded New Orleans neighborhood where all those brass bands come from.
