I never watched the show until last week. I almost couldn't bear to watch it after seeing some dork butcher "Come As You Are." I was literally wincing through the whole show, even though I was fast-forwarding.

But when Jordis came on and sang "We Are the Champions" I seriously got chills. I don't even really like her style of rock or singing, but she was genuine and real compared to all those (dare I say?) poseurs.

Rock on, Jordis.

(Guilty admission: I loved "Trees.")

The format of the show was absolutely atrocious. Why would I want to see those judged as the worst sing INXS songs each week? Additionally, they had a very thin selection of songs licensed, which equaled a very thing slice of rock n' roll. All that being said, I can't wait to give Jordis a proper welcome back party, and hope that she sticks around these parts after undoubtedly getting a ton of national attention (Though I guess I wouldn't blame her if she capitalized on her appearance.)

I know this sounds ridiculous - we are talking about a Burnett production here, but Jordis seemed to bring a certain integrity to this vaudevillian show. Granted the show IS called "Rock Star", so you expected megalomaniac contestants "rocking" like their favorite rock stars, but Jordis' posturing didn't make you wince from embarassment (most of the time). Not like the "Scary Conductor" guy holding out his open palm over his congregation of rock (although, I liked "Trees"). Jordis was awesome because, on her best performances, she didn't have to try very hard - or at least she made it look effortless. Rock on Jordis!
