Another huge score for MNstories.com. If you read the Strib account of the fracas at the Minneapolis mayoral debate, you immediately think to yourself, “I’d like to see that! Where’s the video?” Of course, MNstories was there to record obscure candidate Marcus Harcus raise a ruckus.

Why wasn’t he with we the rest of the candidates? I think it was said, but missed it/couldn’t hear it.

I never found out their criteria for that particular debate. They may have exluded candidates without a party affiliation. Then again they may have just decided on who they perceived to be the top 3 candidates, or based on polls.

what an awesome scoop! . . . and I love Marcus Harcus. Oh, by the way, what, exactly is a “crime genie” and how did it get out of the bottle?
12:39 pm
Yeah, that genie thing is really stupid, and he seemed to think he was so clever everytime he said it.
I’m sorry, but that guy is running his campaign like a republican, and I don’t like it. I may have given him a chance, but his tactics make my stomach turn. He’s taking lessons from Bush and trying to scare everyone in the city into voting for him.
Love that Marcus!

I love the IDEA of Marcus Harkus…but have you read his platform issues on his website?
Chronic drug dealers should be sentenced to holistic healing, growth and development correctional programs…while Minneapolis police officers must truly work as Peace Officers, or else they must be terminated or imprisoned. So drug dealers should be offered the chance to heal and grow for their misgivings but police should be imprisoned for theirs.
Equality at last, thanks Marcus!

I also love Marcus Harcus and will volunteer my political campaign knowledge to his cause.
5:49 pm
yeah, Marcus is a little… odd. but the point having people like him in the debate is to raise issues and perpectives you never, ever hear in the usual sanitized debate environment.

That’s also known as wasting valuable time that could be using grilling the next Mayor of Minneapolis.

I think Mr. Harkus could use some manners. He is not a gentleman what so ever. He should have respected the Woman’s Club for hosting the debate and putting out press released and flyers.
I know for a fact that all mayorial candidates were invited to take part in the forum but due to time constaints they only had room for the top three.
He should have respected the Womans Club and the audience
and not acted like a spoiled brat because he did not get his way.
But in the end he did and he should be ashamed of himself.
I think he should be concerned about what kind of father he is
and what kind of example he is setting.
