Chris Hewitt at the PiPress scores an interview with Robert Altman after shooting has wrapped on PHC. Actual quote: “I have a very definite idea that this film could find the kind of audience that went to Mel Gibson’s Jesus picture.” Oh, and of course he swears during the interview.

Also, mildly interesting to those of us who work online, the story contains a link to a Wikipedia entry, a practice that is still relatively rare for the mainstream press to do.

I suppose that means that legions of Minnesotans will go to see the film not because they necessarily want to, but because they feel obligated to. Then, regardless of the actual quality of the film they will tell anyone and everyone (again out of sense of obligation) that it was deeply moving and made them proud to be Minnesotan.
Non-Minnesotans who have not seen the film will protest its negative attitude toward people who are not Minnesotan.
And then some guy will claim that the movie inspired him to erect a 60-foot sign that points out that “Iowa” is Lakota for “boring place.”
