Ewe, Coli

Glad for all the concern, but the beach at Lake Hiawatha has been closed all this year and last — at least — because of e. coli concerns.

A level of 235 for E. coli is approximately equal to 8 cases of gastrointestinal illness per 1000 recreational water users. The Harriest southeast beach had an 1800 (!) rating on 6/9. Someone must have taken a huge shit in there that day.

Apparently nobody informed the group of 10-15 kids that were splashing around in the water off the north shore beach last night.

Those kids should get computers and read this blog.

Being a competitve swimmer in my skinnier days, I was routinely sent to the bottom of our YMCA’s pool w/a skimmer net to retrieve presents left by others the day before.

Because the present had been left the night before a good chunk of the logs would break off and float around.

Now, supposedly, they close the pool when people pee in the water. Funny thing is, in addition to the poop thing, she wouldn’t let us out of the pool to pee — “just go in the water.”

How times have changed.

Psst, Calhoun reopened.

Psst…the sound of your organs evacuating after a nice swim?
