In the worst attempt we’ve seen in a while to turn a national trend into a local story, a 129-word static message on Kevin Garnett’s website is apparently enough to elicit a story from the Strib on sports blogs. I suddenly don’t feel bad when we get only five new posts up here in a day.

Now that I agree with. KG’s thing is not a blog.

Man, it would be something if KG’s blog was updated all the time and he had a bunch of things to say:
July 25th 2005—Just got my tickets for the COMMON show this Sunday. Gonna be totally dope. Latrell wants to go to, but he’s got family in town and has to hang out with them. We’re not sure what we’re gonna do after that, but if there’s anything cool, send me an email.

Well, TBPH, it’s typical for blogs to be short, rarely updated, and nearly pointless. If 90% of the blogs out there are like that why should we expect KG’s to be any different?
He’s just getting noticed because he’s a Minnesota icon to some…

Seriously, that’s a blog? A single message that says “See you next season” constitutes blogging? C’mon now…

Honestly, are people going to keep coming back when the season isn’t running? Is KG expected to keep his fans updated with what he ate, where he went on vacation, and his training schedule in the off-season? It would make more sense, to me at least, for him to be updating his blog during the season mentioning specific games, cities, etc.
I’m not your typical sports fanatic but that’s how I would see it, YMMV.
